Colouring

We fancied a rather lazy day today and I felt it was deserved from the busy week we have just had.  I still wanted to take the girls out so we ventured as a family to the national coal mining museum (NCM).  It is only a short drive and it's free entry as the girls are too young to do the underground tour.

My eldest loved looking at the pit ponies (see previous this day I love horses) and the trains.  They have a museum overground but she was a little young to understand.  The best bit for both my girls was the indoor soft play area.  We could not get our eldest off the slide and our youngest loved the ball pool.

We decided to be brave and went to look at the 140m drop of the old furnace shaft.  It has a toughened glass cover which you can walk on.  Our eldest loved it and no fear stood on it going Ooo what's that.  To much amusement of all around.

The best part of today for me though was when we came home.  Usually my eldest wants to help, I think it's a 2 year old thing, but today what she wanted to do was colour.  She coloured long enough so dinner could be sorted and washing seen to.  For me watching how happy she was colouring made my day.

This day I love colouring.
