Zombies and Mud

Well I did it!

I first want to thank everyone who sponsored me.  Then I am going to give myself a pat on the back, I don't normally boast but I think I deserve to, the Zombie run was epic.

For those of you that don't know what a Zombie run is, its 5K of obstacles and the course is filled with Zombies.  You have three lives, red tags on a belt, and the idea is to run as fast as you can before the Zombies take the tags off you.

It was amazing.  The course was in very muddy slippy fields, woodlands and parks.  The majority of the Zombies and runners played fair.  For those that did play by the rules and play fair the experience was amazing, the odd one or two that spoilt it but I guess that's to be expected.  I have to hand it to whoever looked after the Zombies as they were incredibly scary and the makeup/costumes fantastic.

The spirit of some people too was great.  With people dressing up in everything from giraffes, bananas and I even saw the avengers take on the Zombies.  I loved the variety of the costumes and the creativity people showed.

I was expecting a few more obstacles, if I am honest, but what was there was great.  I loved the slide at the end, which resulted in this

after mud slide

My sister says it looks like I was too scared of the Zombies, I must therefore point out that this is mud.

Would I do it again? In a heart beat.

Though next time those Zombies that cheated, I won't play fair next time and those runners that cheated, shame on you.  Finally those boy Zombies selling back tags in the woods for a £1 [only in Barnsley would a group of boys think of doing that] clever idea, I wonder how much they made?

  2. This sounds amazing! I don't know if you've heard of it but there's actually an app called Zombies, Run! which alone I think is an awesome idea, but this is pretty cool, I'd love to take part in something like this!

    Well done!
