Autumn Lounge

Autumn is finally here and with it the wonderful colours and smells that Autumn brings. There is a crispness in the air and the Autumn sun adds a hint of warmth, Bringing the Autumn indoors sees adding a touch of orange into the décor to replicate that warmth. Earth colours to represent the falling leaves and keeping other areas neutral to highlight the oranges and browns.

The lounge becomes the main focal point for our family in Autumn. Playing out in the leaves during the day, picking blackberries or even conker hunting before coming inside and cuddling up on the sofa to warm up. A sofa large enough to accommodate us all is a must as is a nice throw to keep us warm and cushions to lounge on.

Autumn colours add a lot of warmth to a room. The best way to achieve this is with accessories. As the nights draw in and the clocks go back these accessories add the special touches to the room. Clever mood lighting can easily be achieved and the scents of Autumn can be added using candles. Which also add a relaxing atmosphere to the room.

Our lounge is the final room in the house to be decorated and I have started drawing inspiration from the season I love the most, Autumn. I love everything from the scents to the colours. The orange adding a touch of warmth onto a neutral pallet, bringing the outdoors in. To make our lounge perfect it would need a wood burner which is something high on my list of items I would love.
