Making the most of the space

When we moved into our new home I had a 2 week old baby and an under 2.  Needless to say unpacking boxes happened very slowly and things got put away, but nothing really got sorted.  Fast forward to the present date and whilst we are still unpacking boxes, it is becoming more evident that we have simply ‘made do’ with the storage space as is.

It would be lovely if we had an infinite pot of money to make the changes we would love to make, but that simply is not the case.  Instead we save and put away for those big projects, like the bathroom and up cycle wherever possible for the smaller projects.  The garden is the main area of focus for us this year.

The girls playhouse was painted when we moved in but the recent stormy weather broke some of the outside panels and caused damage to the roof.  Rather than replace the whole playhouse we managed to salvage some of the wood and source local parts to fix the whole playhouse for under £60.  It just needs some paint and it will look as good as new.

We are also focusing on the playroom, with another baby on the way we are having to re think storage space in the room.  Items need to be accessible for the baby but some items, like glue, need to be kept out of the way.  The way in which we utilise this room is changing and we are looking for creative solutions to make the best out of the room.  If only we had a fairy god mother like Phil Spencer to help!
