Revolting Rhymes

Roald Dahl is one of my all time favourite authors, as a child I would escape into his books and let my imagination take over.  I can remember in junior school my Auntie gave me a section of a magazine, that she thought I might like.  It was a selection of stories from Roald Dahl and his book Revolting Rhymes.  The magazine has started to yellow at the edges but it is still one of my favourite items I own.

I fell in love with the stories in Revolting Rhymes, they made me laugh and smile re writing the classic tales and it wasn't long before I knew each of them word for word.  About a year ago I walked past a shop which had the Revolting Rhymes book in the window and I bought it to read to my children, and it has fast become one of my daughters favourites too.

This Christmas Revolting Rhymes was brought to life in an enchanting two-part animation from Magic Light Pictures.  Voiced by a stellar British cast including David Walliams (Little Britain, Gangsta Granny), Tamsin Greig (The Green Room, Episodes), Dominic West (The Wire, Pride) and Gemma Chan (Humans) it was the must see for our family this Christmas.  The girls eyes lit up as they watched the stories we had read so many times come to life in front of them.  The inner child in me was excited to see the stories I loved as a child.

Revolting Rhymes

On February 6th Revolting Rhymes will be available to own on DVD.  Additional features on the DVD include previously unseen footage of the Making Of Revolting Rhymes and a delightful image gallery. Each copy of Revolting Rhymes comes with a set of beautifully designed postcards.  With a running time of 60 minutes [2 x 30 minute episodes] it is perfect for the upcoming half term.

I am looking forward to sitting with my children again to watch Revolting Rhymes.

We have been sent a check disk in exchange for this post, all words are my own opinion.
