This day I love.......

We had a rather busy weekend.  My youngest daughter has had a growth spurt and is now the same size as her sister, which means we needed to do a wardrobe tidy out.  I always love a good sort out and the girls seemed to enjoy sorting through their clothes too.

This then obviously meant we needed to go shopping there and then.  A 3 year old simply cannot wait until Monday to go shopping.  We ventured out and luckily managed to find the things the girls needed.  My eldest had been complaining her school shoes did not fit so we also went shopping for shoes, and yes the girls also have the same size feet!

After we had done homework, spellings and reading we decided to make the most of the time remaining and spend it out in the garden.  The girls decided to get the see-saw out and had fun playing with it on the lawn.

After quite some time they wanted to do something else and sat pondering what else they could play with.

In the meantime the dogs were having their own adventure.  I have no idea what they had found but it was clearly under the plant pot.

The girls finally made a decision and spent the rest of the evening playing on the trampoline

This day I love making the most of the sun

Sunday

I took the girls to see their very first wrestling match.  It was a huge success, excuse the rubbish quality photos

the big show

Monday

I took my eldest swimming after school and she loved trying her new Cuddle dry towel.  It kept her wet hair from getting on her clothes whilst she got dressed.

Another treat, this time to see Mr Tumble.  I took the girls after school on a surprise trip and they loved the show.

My latest trick in trying to get the girls to go to sleep is to play with them outside in the fresh air.  By play I mean run around play.  I am attempting to tire them out, even though they have had a full day at nursery they still come home with lots of energy.

youngest on the swing

The warm weather today meant we could get outside.  First the girls wanted to go on the swings but they soon got distracted and decided instead to try other things to play with.  My eldest is in a climbing phase and decided to climb up the tyre swing.  Whilst she liked it for a few seconds she soon asked for help to get down.

The girls ran around and I chased them.  We sang ring o roses on the trampoline and we all love to fall down and bounce on the trampoline.  Then finally the girls wanted to climb their tree house and explore.

You would think with all that they would be tired but no the two little monkeys still wanted to play.  I had better try harder tomorrow.

With the nice warm weather and my girls showing more and more interest in wildlife, we decided it was time to build our bird table.

The girls enjoyed putting all the pieces together

My eldest liked passing the pieces to me and my youngest enjoyed helping

After we had built our table it was all time to pile on Mummy on the trampoline

As the weather was nice when I got home from work, the girls and I went outside to play.  We spent the evening playing on the trampoline

The girls did lots of giggling.  There favourite thing though was jumping on me.  'All squish Mummy' was what my eldest kept shouting.  It really was lovely to spend some time playing with my girls, and they giggled the whole time

This day I love bouncing and giggling

'Mummy, lets go, come on Mummy lets go outside'

My eldest repeated this from 5.30am as she had awoken to sun and wanted to play outside on her bike.  Not wanting to pass the opportunity of a nice day out we went

My daughter could hear the neighbours cutting grass, so she wanted to do the same.  Only she decided to Mow the trampoline, I have no idea why.

'Where has the worm gone Mummy?' My eldest then asked me, remembering last time we went in the garden she held a worm.  We then set upon the task of finding her a worm

We found a rather long worm, which she decided was a snake.  She wanted to put it on the moss, as she said the snake lived here.

It was a really lovely day spent in the garden

This day I love snakes, bikes and mowing the trampoline

I asked my eldest what she wanted to do today, her first response was Justin's House, her next request was to see Mr Bloom,  and her final one was to play in the garden.  At last something we could do.  We watched a Mr Tumble DVD followed by Mr Bloom on Cbeebies, this seemed to satisfy the first two requests, then headed out into the garden.

The girls love playing in our garden on the swings and the slides.  My eldest pushed her pushchair round as I pushed my youngest in hers to get her to take a nap.  After 30 minutes of pushing we decided to go and play on the trampoline

My eldest would run around in circles then pretend to fall over and would lie on the trampoline giggling.  She would then get up and do it again.

I love seeing how happy my girls are when playing outdoors.  I am so pleased we decided to buy them a trampoline, its money well spent for the happy face.

This day I love Garden fun

My eldest currently thinks 5am is a great time to start the day and my youngest thinks 1am is a great time to go to bed.  4 hours sleep maximum is slowly taking its toll.  I had a lovely day planned today but unfortunately the weather decided otherwise.  We had been forecast 10cm of snow but I think we probably got about 1/2 cm.  With our early morning start we were able to get out early and attempt to build a snowman, unfortunately there was not quite enough snow so we improvised

Curiosity then got the better of my eldest and she decided to eat snow

My youngest was tired and wanted cuddles, I did not mind

We headed back inside to get warm and my youngest had a sleep.  My eldest wanted to finish her Easter cards  so we stuck on a pom pom for the rabbits nose, and pieces of coloured thread to make the whiskers

I love our Easter cards, I would have used bigger eyes but I only had small ones left.  My eldest wanted to do more painting so we started our secret craft project [fingers crossed it goes to plan] and then baked a cake

I love the look of concentration on my daughters face as she cracks the egg.  My youngest helped by eating the cake once it had cooked

Eating cake

You would think after waking up at 5am followed by playing in the snow, crafting and baking that they would be tired, but no my eldest wanted to do more baking.  So we made some food for the birds.

First we melted a block of lard in a pan

Next we mixed in bird seeds

Added some string to our shape moulds, we went for butterfly shapes

Before finally adding the mixture to the moulds and placing in the fridge overnight to set

In the morning we will hang our bird food out.  After all the activities today I was tired and ready for a sit down, it was only 3pm by this point, so we sat on the sofa and watched Toy story before I had to go and cook the girls dinner.  I am hoping its not another 5 am start tomorrow.

This day I love Mr snow head.
