Sprucing up for spring

by - 18:00

The Past few weeks have been a real blur. The virus finally seems to have got the message and is slowly leaving, although it has left some battle scars. Whilst I was ill it left me with some thinking time with ways in which I can spruce up the house. I have been wanting to put my own personal touches on rooms for a while and these past few weeks have given me some ideas. In particular the kitchen and the playroom.

I would really love a new kitchen but as there are no funds available for this a refresh would be amazing. All the appliances are ours that we bought when we moved so they don't need changing instead a simple refresh. One of the ways I am looking at refreshing the kitchen is with a new cooker hood. The one in the kitchen is looking a little dated and a new modern one with curved glass and led edge would look stunning. There are so many wonderful choices too that I could add a real touch of luxury without spending a fortune.

Oven and splashback

Adding a splash of colour and bringing the kitchen up to date are my main aims, whilst waiting for a new kitchen. I could add a glass splash black behind the cooker. This would inject some well needed colour into the kitchen and also be much easier to keep clean than the tiles we currently have. Again within minimal cost, this gives me two simple ways to spruce up the kitchen.

The playroom is the other room I am wanting to spruce up. I still really love the colour in there but I think it could do with something adding to it.  There is one wall in particular which is looking rather plain

I want to brighten up the wall by adding something to it, to give the room a new lease of life.  I decided that one of the ways I could do this would be with wall stickers.  WallPops got in touch regarding their wall stickers and I simply could not resist this bunting, perfect for the play room.

The stickers were easy to remove from the peel back paper and really easy to apply to the wall.  I made a few mistakes but found the sticker easy to remove without damage to the wall itself.  The stickers are made of vinyl and feel like they would wipe clean if I needed to.  I had enough in the pack to do one complete wall of the playroom.

I love how the simple addition of the wall stickers have brightened up the playroom.  WallPops wall stickers are a lovely way to brighten up a room.

What rooms are you looking to brighten up this Spring?

  1. That cooker hood looks so amazing! I'd like to freshen up our bedroom. It tends to be a bit of a clutter half the time and lick of paint would be good for starters! Followed by a complete re-organisation. Something that wouldn't cost the earth :)
