This day I love.......

I love spending time outdoors and of course running.  I love it even more when my children are with me and enjoying themselves.  Both girls enjoy running, my eldest more so, and our Sunday mornings are running mornings at Junior parkrun.  I strongly feel that running has to be fun and something you enjoy, otherwise there really is no point and I carry this through with the girls.  I ask them on a Saturday night if they want to get up in the morning for running, should they say no I don't wake them.  My youngest decided not to go as she was too tired and so it was just my eldest.

Spending one on one time is really lovely and I was looking forward to our morning together.  It was a rather lovely wintry morning.  Not too cold, but cold enough to still feel fresh outside.  We wrapped up warm, my daughter in her 'running' hoody and running t-shirt and myself wrapped in my Saltrock microfleece.

My eldest sometimes gets a little nervous before parkrun starts.  I think it is because she runs without me running with her, but once she gets going she is fine.  Hand in Hand we walked over to the start line, both of us keeping warm as we went.

I took up my spot at the furthest point of one end of the course.  The weather slowly getting colder and with the wintry wind picking up I pulled the hood over my hat to protect the back of my neck and my hands inside my zipped pockets to keep them warm.

The best part of the spot I was volunteering in is that the kids all run past at the start and then I am no longer needed to stand there after the last runner has gone past.  I can therefore walk to the finish line in order to see my daughter finish.

I am always very proud of her for running, regardless of her time or where she finishes.  The fact she wants to get up and run is more than enough for me.  We normally stay for a drink in the cafe but the weather was beginning to turn so we headed back for the car.

I was really surprised at how warm we both were, given the weather.  I had been stood still for 20 minutes in a place very open to the elements yet I had kept incredibly warm.  My fleece jacket is incredibly light weight and incredibly soft to the touch.  I was surprised at how warm it had kept me.  The sleeves were the perfect length to tuck my hands in to to keep them warm, and the pockets deep enough to carry my phone and camera, plus all the other requirements you need when out and about.  Not to mention the hood which kept the wind from the back of my neck.

The weekend is almost upon us again and provided we don't get snowed in we will be running!  If we do get snowed in at least we can keep warm playing in the snow!

This day I love keeping warm and helping out

I often travel to London and am happy to do so with my children.  Upon a recent journey I was travelling with just little man and given how close the venue was to the station opted to not take the pushchair and just the sling.

This in itself is a challenge.  The weather outside is rather cold at the moment and because I like to carry Little Man in his sling, I like to wear clothing that I can layer.  It has to be comfortable in order to take the weight of Little Man and his sling, and be soft enough for Little Man to be against.

A favourite clothing brand of mine is Saltrock.  The online ordering process is quick and simple, and delivery is quick, which is perfect for someone like me who has very little spare time.  There are often lots of offers to be had to, and in the Black Friday sales there were hoodies for £5!  I signed up for the newsletter and it is worth doing because you get notified of special offers.

Saltrock offer clothing for Men, Women and Children, although nothing for Little Man just yet.  I ordered 3 items for £35, a short sleeve top, a long sleeve top and a hoodie.  I had the short sleeve underneath the long sleeve to keep me warm, and then used the hoodie to wrap around Little Man and myself to keep us warm.  It worked perfectly.  Little man had a warm place to rest his head when he got tired and we both kept nice a warm.  The hoodie was light weight enough to fold and place in the rucksack when I was not wearing it, but comfortable enough that it would wrap around us both for an extra layer.

As I wear the sling over the top of the clothes, the Saltrock clothing has to be good quality so as to not wear quickly.  The extra weight of Little Man and the sling adds strain onto the clothing that would not normally occur.  Saltrock clothing, so far, seems to be able to withstand this extra weight and strain.  It has also been able to withstand the pulling and chewing from Little Man.

You can probably imagine that having a baby in a sling means I also get covered in mushed food quite a lot.  Luckily the Saltrock clothing washes really well and retains shape and colour, so it is easy to remove the lovely stains Little Man leaves from his sticky food!  I have been so impressed with my clothing from Saltrock that I have even ordered the girls a few pieces for Christmas, as I know they will withstand the mud and outdoor play from the girls.

Thank you to Saltrock for providing a gift voucher to purchase the items for myself.  All words are my own opinion.

The winter nights are drawing in and there is a real cold edge in the mornings.  As Thing 3 grows my regular clothes are no longer covering bump, however as this will be the last pregnancy I do not want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes.  I would much rather buy clothes that I will be able to wear once Thing 3 arrives, as well as during pregnancy.

I have been looking for a warm winter hoody with some length to it.  The reason is the length will help cover the expanding bump and still keep me warm.  Saltrock clothing offered a fantastic solution.  Their ripples drop hem hoody had a nice long length, which was perfect for growing bump.  Simple details making it something that I really love.

The fit was perfect.  Really comfortable to wear and stretched with ease over Thing 3.  I was really surprised at how soft the hoody felt and I certainly felt lovely and warm in it, perhaps learning not to wear it for swimming again as sitting at the side of the pool did get rather warm.

The hoody has two draw strings on the front and plain coloured mesh panels under the arms.  The branding is very suitable and in the corner and I didn't actually notice it until I sat down.

I was really pleased with how the hoody washed, it retained its shape and its colour.  The hoody feels really high quality and it is really comfortable to wear.

My Saltrock hoody has become a fast favourite and one I want to wear all the time.  Saltrock also offer a great range of children and menswear.  I am now off to do some Christmas shopping for my husband and the girls!

Saltrock have very kindly provided me with a 10% discount code to share, TSIL10 will give readers 10% off basket total.

Thanks to Saltrock for sending the hoody for review.  All words are my own opinion.
