It's a Girl

When my girls were born they were given lots of beautiful gifts.  Everything from toys, clothes and soft toys.  As the girls grew they outgrew the much loved toys and clothes, some of the clothes I kept and others I had made into cushions as keep sakes.  One of the gifts the girls still have is their very first teddy.

The first teddy my eldest was given was a teddy dog from her Daddy and her Grandparents also bought her a white teddy dog.  She had both of these still on her bed.  My youngest was given a teddy rabbit from her Grandparents and a friend of the family also sent her a toy rabbit.  I find it a lovely coincident that they were both given the same animals from different people who didn't know what the other had bought.

I noticed with my youngest that the gifts she was given was very different to my eldest, as my girls are close in age I had kept everything from the first time so she received more keep sake type items.  I wonder if this is the same with any second or subsequent children?  The Royal baby arrived yesterday and as a second child I wonder what gifts people will look at for her.

I think it is a lovely gift for a new baby to be given their first teddy bear, and it can be made even more special if the bear can be kept for a lifetime.  A bear made to be played, that is washable, huggable and safe.  Soft enough to cuddle and strong enough to last a lifetime.  A bear made with love and care and tested to the highest international standard.  A bear like a British teddies bear.
