Unique Christmas Gift Ideas

There’s less than 100 days to go until Christmas! For some people that will create sheer joy, but in others that will create absolute panic. It means you have to start thinking about all the gifts you need to buy and all the preparations you need to start making. Get a head start with your present planning with this list of unique Christmas gift ideas. Your family and friends might appreciate these ideas much more than the usual vouchers or socks!

Christmas hampers
Put together personalised Christmas hampers for the people you love. If you have lots of ideas for little things you would like to get your friends, get them a hamper. There are many options which offer a mix of incredible chocolates, wines and cheeses, so find a hamper that appeals to your friends’ tastes. Not only will they enjoy the treats inside, but a beautiful, handmade wicker basket is something they can use time and time again.

Cocktail making class
This is a really fun experience to get as a present. You can take a group of your friends, perhaps as a collective Christmas treat, and enjoy learning about cocktail making. Discover the difference between a mojito and a margarita and challenge your friends to a cocktail making competition. Plus, many bars which do cocktail making classes also offer food. You can finish the night off with a great meal to catch up on all the latest gossip.

Tickets to something they love
If your friends or family love music, art or theatre, why not try to find them tickets to something that suits their interests. Check whether their favourite bands are on tour, and, if so, book tickets for the show. Maybe there is a new exhibition at a local gallery that they would love to see. Or how about tickets to a play or musical. If you aren't based in London, many of the West End musicals go on tour throughout the year. See if any are coming to a major city near you.

A city break
This doesn't have to be an idea that costs the world. Nowadays it is much easier to find budget accommodation, and flights with low-cost airlines. Planning a surprise holiday for someone’s Christmas gift is an incredible feat that will earn you plenty of brownie points. You don’t have to stay in pricey hotels. Instead, look at websites like Airbnb where you can rent out a local’s home and really get a feel for the culture of a place.  Or for great low-cost packages try websites like lastminute.com or groupon.

These ideas will appeal to adults, but if you want to cover ideas for the kids, there are many reviews on my blog about toys which my daughters have loved. There are so many children’s toys available on the market that it is sometimes hard to know what to get. Some of my favourites have been the Doc McStuffins toys, which are particularly great for younger children.
