I need to do the Dambuster 10 again. I really wasn't feeling it when I turned up very early in the morning to run this race. My mojo had well and truly gone and I just was not in the right frame of mind. I had however wanted to run 10 miles for a long time so decided to go and give it a go and see what the race was like.
After been eaten alive by the 100s of midges that seem to be around we were ready to start the race, not before a quick team selfie.
The race is both on trail and tarmac meaning whatever shoes you wear you wished you had worn the others. I had on roads, and whilst great for tarmac I did suffer a bit on the trail. The views were amazing, following the edges of the reservoir. Some fantastic downhills and not so pleasant ups, but the views more than made up for it.
My head really wasn't in the right space for this race and I simply plodded along. Stopping to take photos, admire the views and just take in where I was, rather than focus on running. I would like to go back and do it again, more so I can remember what the route is like!
