AD : Christmas Experience at Lotherton

The Christmas Experience is something we look forward to every year as a family. It has been part of our tradition of Christmas for quite some time now, all three children ask about it. The invite for the press day arrived and I think I might have been more excited than the kids, I could not wait to tell them.

We have visited Lotherton for many years for their Christmas experience and each year the experience seems to get better, building on previous years. The wishing tree which I think we experienced for the first time last year was slightly different and I think the elf who leads it really makes the experience here for you. Ours was fantastic and brought the excitement levels higher!

Onward we went to the Reindeer Emporium to make our food for the reindeer's on Christmas eve, before posting our letter to Santa at the Post office.

There was a small queue to wait for Santa but the elf in the waiting room did a great job of keeping everyone entertained.

Then it was finally our turn to walk through the magic gate to see the big man himself

I always like listening to the children when asked what they would like for Christmas, as what usually happens is some surprise that was not on the list appears. This year was no different and so now some emergency elf shopping is required.

After seeing Father Christmas we headed to the house to visit Mrs Claus. Here she was decorating gingerbread men with the children

I do love this activity and think it is done so well for the kids. Plus who doesn't love gingerbread!

We decided to stay in the house and have a look at the traditional Christmas decorations. We also played a game of how many Christmas trees we could find. I have a lot of photos of my children stood in front of different trees. All so beautifully decorated.

There was one final activity for us to do and that was elf crafts. My son painted a Santa Lantern and the girls made Christmas plates. I would recommend taking a bag with you if you do this as I had to carry three pieces of wet crafts round afterwards!

As is out tradition we always stop for a Hot Chocolate with all the trimmings before having a walk round the festive walk and fairy dell.

I could not think of a better way to get in to the spirit of Christmas. Thank you so much for inviting us!
