This day I love.......

The girls are showing a real interest in the minute in growing plants.  They were given a bag of seeds and are desperate to plant them.  This curiosity has expanded into how do plants grow, and we have been having fun exploring this.

A recent delivery of a rainy pot from Red Candy, has allowed us to explore this further.

We chose a blue pot for our rainy pot, but there are other colours available.  Everything needed [except soil, seeds and water] are included in the box and there is minimal assembly.

The rainy pot can be hung on the wall or stood on its own.

We decided to do something a little fun for Easter.  The girls know that for a plant to grow it needs a substance like soil to grow in.  However as this was a magic Easter plant we needed some flour.

Once full it was then time to plant our special Easter seed [small chocolate egg for us big people].

For a plant to grow it needs water and our special cloud helped us with this.  The cloud takes a maximum of 80ml of water.

The special rainy pot then casts its magic and rains on our plant, as plants need water to grow

The girls left their special Easter plant out over night for the Easter bunny to wave his magic.  Next morning when the girls woke up

Our Rainy pot had grown a special Easter treat!

The girls were incredibly impressed and are now really eager to plant flowers in our Rainy pot!

Thanks to Red candy for sending us a rainy pot for this post.  All words are my own opinion.

I was invited to look around the new Next home and garden store in Warrington, along with other blogging Mums.  I love Next and am a regular shopper and love that I am part of the Next blogger network, so this was a great chance for me to take a closer look around the store.  Whilst I love the Next range I have never really given much thought about the displays and the thought process behind them.

We began with a tour of the store and I was really fascinated to learn the stories behind each display, that they are not as I previously thought, items simply put together.  There is a story and an inspiration behind each one.  Each item carefully chosen for a specific target person in mind, from the person who loves colour to those that like the neat clean plain styles.  Items inspired by trips to Morocco and items grouped together to show you what works and what you can achieve,

The idea is to make shopping easy.  So that you can simply walk into any Next store and be inspired for your own home.  My favourite item in the Home store was this children's Pirate bed, my daughter is really into Pirates and she would love this

I think though that having seen the following sign I may have found our new house hold motto

What I really liked about the Warrington store, was the wide range available in the garden section.  The thought process continues in the garden too.  With items grouped together to provide inspiration

Items grouped by colour so even those with little gardening experience can easily find what they are looking for.  There is also a wide range of grow your own fruit and vegetables.  I thought it was very useful to see above each of the plants a useful chart to explain the plant labels.  It helped identify quickly what plants like shade or full sun and how hardy the plants are to ice.

After a tour of the store we were whisked away for afternoon tea.  I think I may have eaten far too many cakes but then they were rather yummy.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent relaxing in the spa before having to pick the girls up from nursery.  It was really lovely to meet up with other blogging Mums for the afternoon and spend some time together chatting and relaxing.  A lovely day out with Next.

I was not asked by Next to write a review or a post, I simply had a lovely time and wanted to write about it.  I was provided with a tour of the store, a gift voucher, afternoon tea and a spa treatment.

Today was a day to be brave.  9 years ago on this day my younger sister fell asleep, I remember every minute of that day like it was yesterday.  I needed to be brave, I needed to be strong for my girls.  They are too young to understand.  They came with me and my Mum to the grave.  In some ways it made it easier having them there.  My eldest wanted to help with the flowers and they were both ever so good

When we came home I needed to keep busy to take my mind off things.  I love to be outdoors and so I spent the afternoon with the girls in the garden.  My eldest helped me plant some plants

planting

It was incredibly hard work as I had to move the pebbles in order to plant, but I hope it will all be worth it when the plants grow and the garden starts to attract wildlife.

Whilst digging we came across a worm.  My eldest loves animals when they are far away but if they come up close she gets very scared.  The same happened with the worm.  I picked it up to show her it was ok, she slowly came round to the idea.  After a few minutes she asked if she could hold the worm.  This was incredibly brave for my daughter to do

I am ever so proud of her for doing so.  She did not want to put the worm back into the ground.  After a long question and answer on the worm she finally agreed to put him back to look after the plants.

This day I love Bravery
