This day I love.......

We were sent a map for review. All words are my own honest opinion. There was no financial incentive received for this review.

One of my greatest passions is the outdoors. I absolutely love to be outside, exploring and having an adventure. When I run I take random roads and random paths just to see where they go and where I end up. My children also seem to have the same love of adventure. Getting on our bikes and seeing where we end up, although they are not such a fan when an uphill appears. The opportunity to review a map, which promises to be filled with amazing adventures and the funnest things to do was something I could not turn down.

Now that covid restrictions are starting to ease slightly and we have a little bit more freedom I think we are all ready to start exploring further afield and discover new places. I am not ready yet to travel too far afield, but I am ready to discover some new places close to home.

This new map from Marvelous maps is aimed at children and aims to spark imagination and give inspiration to any budding explorer. The map is absolutely bursting with information and had my children engaged for quite some time.

I am truly blown away by all the information on the map, yet at the same time the map doesn't feel too overloaded with information. My children absolutely love it. Trying to find things to do, looking at places they have been and planning journeys. It has sparked conversations about things they remember seeing and places they want to go. It has created a fascination with maps and map reading and looking and planning for future adventures.

The girls planned a day out after finding Nostell Priory on the map and we headed over for some Easter fun.

Children on a path

We explored the gardens and made the most of the spring sunshine, even if it was a little cold. There was an Easter egg hunt on which was great to be a part of after none happened last year. We had only planned on spending a few hours but actually spent the whole day. We had a picnic in the gardens and then spent the rest of the day playing the playground. Of course every treat day out is finished with a hot chocolate.

Boy drinking

The girls have already started planning our next adventure and I have been googling some of the places on the map to learn more about them too.

Map planning

I have created a video of our adventures which will be live soon!

The Juggleezz featured was provided in exchange for a review. No financial incentive has been received and all words are my honest opinion.

The beautiful sunshine gave us the perfect excuse for some fun in the garden. Our Juggleezz arrived just in time too and we wasted no time taking it outside.

Children on the swing

Juggleezz claims to be flexible freestyle fun where creativity knows no bounds. This sounded like a great challenge to us. If there is one thing we love it is creative fun! Juggleezz is soft and squishy, it morphs itself into different shapes making it fun to play with. It also made for a unique experience to catch as you were never sure what shape it would be like to catch it. Our first challenge was a simple throw and catch simply to get used to Juggleezz

Once we had got used to Juggleezz we played piggy in the middle and then attempted our next challenge. A trampoline freestyle challenge. Throw the Juggleezz, perform a move and catch it as you land. The Juggleezz was perfect for these freestyle tricks and because it is soft as we were jumping on the trampoline we were not too worried where it landed.

Our final challenge was a balance challenge. The Juggleezz tries to mould itself around an object which makes it great fun for balancing. We started balancing on our heads and master an obstacle course, but my younger children found this a little tricky so we settled for balancing on our hands, completing an obstacle course before trying to dunk the Juggleezz in the basketball net at the end.

Playing with Juggleezz

It is safe to say we had lots of fun with our Juggleezz challenges, and we would love to see what challenges you come up with or how you get on with ours. Juggleezz is available from Smyth Toys and if you want to find out more fun activities then check out the Juggleezz hub!

The items mentioned in this review have been provided in exchange for an honest review. There has been no financial incentive.

Shielding has ended and the world has begun to open up slowly, which means my son now no longer has to stay in and can venture back into the world again. I have been doing things very slowly with him but trying to explain calmly to a just turned 5 year old not to touch everything and keep his hands clean is very difficult.

I want him to not think that anything is different, I don't want him worrying about the outside world but at the same time I want to keep him as safe as I can. To be fair to him he is quite good with using hand gels but I do often get screams of it's too sticky!

Canal toys create some great activity toys, and so when they got in touch to ask if we wanted to try their Anti-bacterial slime I knew it would be something all three of my children would enjoy. All three of my children [ages 10, 8 and 5] love slime and are always asking for more.

Hand with two pots of slime

My 8 year old decided to test out the slime initially before working out which pot she was going to share with her siblings and which she was keeping for herself. She settled for the red one. First test was a smell, she decided there was a little smell similar to had gel but nothing strong. She then got to playing, and was surprised it wasn't too sticky or slimy and that she could stretch and see through it.

In fact she was incredibly impressed at how super stretchy it is. She loved playing and stretching it and moving it across her hands. All the time she was playing the anti bacterial properties in the slime were helping to keep her hands clean. The slime is alcohol free and holds its anti bacterial properties for a month.

Stretching red slime

What I have noticed as we start to venture out more, is that the hand gel tends to be high up. This makes it suitable  for adult use but less convenient for children, particularly my 5 year old. The anti bacterial slime comes in light weight, small pots which means it is super easy to put in your pocket or bag and carry with you. I can say with confidence that I can always get my 5 year old to play with slime but cannot always get him to use the hand gel.

The anti bacterial slime kills 99.9% of bacteria and is the first product of it's kind. Given how child friendly it is and convenient to carry I can see it accompanying us more as we start venturing out more.

Anti bacterial slime can be purchased from Smyths Toys and Amazon and is available in single pack RRP £2.99 or 4 pack RRP £9.99

I have been gifted two hats for the purpose of this review

Those who know me know how much I love hats. Hats and chocolate are the perfect gift for me. I have a whole draw full of hats. My dream email landed recently from  Big Bobble Hats who asked if I wanted to review their hats. I couldn't say no, I was already a fan of theirs owning several designs already. I selected two Spill the Beanies and Yorkshire Lass.

Yorkshire Lass is of a similar style to my other Big Bobble hats. All big bobble hats are one size fits all. Yorkshire Lass was one I couldn't resist, given I am a Yorkshire Lass! I also love stripes so it was perfect. Like the traditional style Big Bobble Hats Yorkshire Lass features a large PomPom bobble on top and is incredibly warm to wear.

Spill the Beanies is a little different to what I am familiar with with Big Bobble Hats. This one is true Beanie style and has no Pom Pom on it. It is made from a merino wool mix and is incredibly soft. I often forget that I am wearing it and have it on throughout the house.

Spill the Beanies has certainly kept me warm on my many adventures with the dogs. The fleece lining gives it such a soft feel inside too.

Whilst we are all in home isolation my hats are getting worn around the house and in the garden. Yes I do wear them indoors too! I cannot wait to go one adventures again.

If like me you also love hats I have a discount code for you to use at Big Bobble Hats - THISDAY15 and if you would like to win a Big Bobble Hat, make sure you like my Instagram page where I will be putting one live shortly!

I love discovering independent businesses and those which showcase the passion and creativity of the owner. When I received an email from Kirsty at Cookie dough kids I instantly saw Kirstys creativity and passion come through her website. I was delighted to accept a pair of pyjama for Little Man to review.

I ordered a size 4-5 as Little Man turns 4 in a few weeks and I wanted to make sure they would last. He is also quite tall for his age. The cloud print pyjamas come in either blue or pink and the front design can be personalised for free.

The Pyjamas arrived and they were super soft and the print was true to the design on the site.

Vibrant pastel blues and clear white clouds the colours are beautiful. Edging and stitching are of high quality with no loose threads. The sizing on Little Man is a little big but I expected this as he is not four yet. I also like that they are a little big as it means there is room for him to grow.

Little Man has eczema and this can be triggered when he gets too hot. The Cookie Dough kids pj are super soft and allow his skin to breathe meaning we haven't had any eczema flair up whilst he has been wearing them.

I have washed the PJ several times and they still look as they did when we first got them. No colour fade and no stretching.

Little Man absolutely loves his PJ, he loves them even more that they have his name personalised on them. His eldest sister has even taken a shining to them and has asked if they make them in her size!

The girls love a challenge, in fact they regularly come up with them at home so when they were challenged to a crazy hair challenge with Pop Pop Hair surprise they immediately said Yes.

Pop Pop Hair Surprise is is the new 3-in-1 collectable which comes with a Pop hair brush, Pop pod and Pop pet. Open the Pop Brush and twist off the spray bottle, fill it with water, then spray your Pop pod to reveal your adorable Pop pet with crazy hair which you can style and wear in your own hair!

The girls couldn't wait to get started. They wanted to film the challenge and unwrapping on their Pop Pop hair surprise so you can see what you get inside.

I must first apologies as the camera broke and I have had to recover the files which means the video is not the best quality but hopefully you can still see how much fun they had.

The winner of the Pop Pop hair surprise challenge had to be their three year old brother who completely stole the show with his wonderful pink hair!

Thanks for challenging us Pop Pop hair surprise!
