Photography is one of the areas I would love to improve on. I have great creative ideas but often can't quite carry them out. After attending a photography course I purchased my first 'proper' camera and am having great fun playing around with it learning about all the features.
I am still however at that stage where I do not feel comfortable to always use my real camera and rely more on my smartphone. Whilst it has a good camera on it, it is never as good as a real camera. It would be much better if I could have a real camera and a smart phone in one.
Panasonic appear to have come up with a solution in their Lumix DMC-CM1. Neither a camera or a smart phone this is a communication camera. Imagine the possibilities, at blogging events taking fantastic pictures and instantly sharing them. Taking great videos, editing them on the phone straight away and uploading them to YouTube. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 would save bloggers and vloggers countless hours.
The Panasonic CM1 has a 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor. This is more than four times the size of the sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S5. The 20.1Mega pixel camera has full manual control, which is different from other smart phones and begins to make it feel like a real camera.
The video gives little indication onto the overall size of the device, so I would be interested to see how it compares alongside a smartphone. It does look to be a similar size to most smartphones on the market today. The large screen on the back would make video and photo editing much easier.
Having the ability to switch the camera on using an actual camera button is rather appealing to me. It can often be tricky to quick access the camera on phones especially with cold fingers. This would allow you to catch those quick moments and not miss them, as is often the case.
Even from this short video I like the look of the Panasonic DMC-CM1. I would love to try one out and see how much time I can save and also how great the pictures are in comparison to my phone and camera. What do you think? Is this something you would like?
