Playing outside in the Spring

As the weather gets milder upon the approach to Spring, the girls want to play outside for longer.  Spring seems to be arriving early this year, but the dark nights still remain.  The girls are eager to stay outside and play, not bothered by the dark and whilst our garden is secure [as it can be] I still am not keen on them playing outside in the dark.

We originally had two lights outside our back door but the bulbs in them go regularly.  The light fittings themselves have started peeling and they generally look untidy.  As we have a woodland at the end of our garden, any lights we do install needs to be able to stand the damage that woodlands can cause.  Leaves, twigs and tree sap can often get caught up in the lights and the lights need to be relatively maintenance free.

A quick search on the Value lights website and I came across these traditional style wall lights.  These lights are made of a heavy duty plastic but give the look of metal lights.  This means they are weather proof, non corrosive and require no upkeep.  Perfect for our garden.  The wall lights can also be ordered with an LED bulb that has up to 25 years worth of light.  This makes it not only energy efficient but also incredibly low maintenance.

Outside wall lights

The light looks and feels of a great quality and whilst we could install them ourselves have opted to have an electrician to fit them.  Just to be on the safe side with them going outside.  Now we have our lights in place the girls can play outside in the evening and I am also confident that these new wall lights will last for many years to come with little to no maintenance!
