Santa Express

As mentioned in a previous post, my daughter really loves trains.  If there is an opportunity to take her on one then I will and the opportunity arose today.  It was a complete surprise as we had gone to the Dickensian festival at Lightwater valley and there it was the Santa Express.

The Dickensian festival is an event at Lightwater valley which my husband and I enjoy going to.  It always has a good selection of craft and hand made produce.  Sometimes we even manage to pick up that Christmas present or stocking filler we have had trouble finding.  There is a good selection of entertainment with carol singing and bell ringers.  Last year Punch and Judy show and a flea circus, this year magician.  It is our way of kicking of the festive season.

We always have our picture taken in the sleigh with the reindeer.  Last year our daughter was a little young to know what the reindeer were, but this year she signed away and our youngest would not stop giggling.  It is lovely looking at both pictures to see the changes in our eldest in one year, and to see this year the addition of our youngest daughter, its added a bit of Christmas magic to it all.

The Ponies where all dressed up ready for Christmas too, but our children are a little too young for Pony rides, maybe next year.  Next to the Pony was the train, Santa Express.  Our eldest held on to the tickets really tight, and handed them over to the conductor.  Away we went round the park, she was laughing and asking what things were as we went round.  Pointing out the snowmen and the Christmas trees.  It truly was a magical Christmas experience and a day which has started the festive period for us as a family.
