remembering and helping

Yesterday we made musical instruments using a variety of different materials, one of which was a plastic bottle.  Early today my daughter found a plastic bottle in the recycling and shook it like we did yesterday but nothing happened:

She looked ever so disappointed that it did not make any noise.  I do love that she remembered what we did, I think that shows she is learning about the world around her.  I felt ever so sad that it did not make the sound she was expecting and I would have filed it with something to make noise had she let me have it.

We did our weekly shop today and my youngest was fascinated by the contents of the bags.

She helped me put things away by sampling all the items she could get out of the bag before me.

This day I love remembering and helping

  3. I love this - it is so great to see them learning. I feel that T is doing the same and remembering things and trying out new things. She loves blowing raspberries at us and the moment and if we make fish gulping motions with our mouths, she copies. Love the 'sampling items' - i remember my eldest helping to unpack when he was about 18 months old and we ended up with half eaten bananas (with the skin still on!), broccoli that had been nibbled, mushrooms ditto and a couple of eggs smashed onto the floor. Still it gives us funny memories to look back on. xxx
