To be that age

After work I took the girls for a walk.  I wanted to make the most of the sun as we have been stuck inside with the rain for far too long.  As we were walking my eldest decided she no longer wanted to walk on the path, but instead in the mud along the side of the path.  She was really enjoying herself.  She kept saying, 'Icky, sticky, Mud' as she proceeded to squelch in the mud and generally have fun.

She would occasionally stop from her squelching to jump in a puddle or too, and then go back to some more squelching.  As we continued to walk, some other walkers in the opposite direction saw my daughter and smiled, they then proceed to say 'Oh to be that age again'.   Which got me thinking, how lovely it must be to be three.  How much I wanted to go and play in the icky sticky mud with her and jump in the puddles.  To be three and not have a care.
