Sweet memory lane

by - 22:41

I remember walking to the local sweet shop with my friends or my sisters and buying a 10p mix. You felt like you had lots of sweets, or asking for a quarter of your favourite sweets and eating them on the way home from school. Sweets evoke such wonderful childhood memories and really take you on a trip down memory lane

We had sweets as our wedding favours and jars filled with sweets as decorations on our wedding tables. Sweets are bought as gifts and really do make the perfect present. Whatever your budget there is always a sweet collection to accommodate. Be it chocolate heaven, all sorts of liquorice or simply revisiting childhood favourite there are sweets for every occasion and every taste.

I miss our local sweet shop, walking in surrounded by the jars of sweets and eagerly awaiting your purchase in the striped paper bag. There is certainly truth in the saying a kid in a sweet shop. I wish I lived in Ashby de la Zouch, they have a wonderful sweet shop which does all of the above.

Sweet memory lane caters for every occasion they have childhood favourites and new discoveries, each one hand picked from the family run shop. There are over 600 treats in stock, everything from fudge to liquorice to chocolate and retro sweets.

Whilst Sweet memory lane is just over an hours drive it is probably a little far to travel for the authentic sweet shop feel. I guess lucky for me they have an online store. The sweetie team pick, pack and post every order personally ensuring your order arrives in perfect condition. Sweet memory lane even go the extra mile as you can contact them with any special requests.

I received a beautifully packaged jar of sweets today, which I can tell was lovingly packed. The card inside tells me it was packed by Helen.  I would love to borrow her to wrap my Christmas presents.  You certainly get your money's worth with as a gift, I think mine will be a gift for me because it's sunny. Well in The interest of fairness I think I should eat all the sweets, just to check each one tastes as good as they look and smell. Whilst my local sweet shop may no longer be there, I do now at least have an online alternative.

I received a jar of sweets in exchange for this post.  All words are my own opinion.

  1. I do love penny sweets. I wish they were still pennies in price still though. Great to see online retailers offering this now though
