I haven't written an actual running update for a while and thought one was long overdue.
September last year I began my running journey and in that time have suffered numerous months off with injury [not caused by running I might add], a few low points and lots of highs. It is quite difficult to pick a high point. I have run every distance up to and including a marathon which I recently completed to mark a year of running.
I aim to continue running for as long as possible whilst pregnant with Thing 3. Although the furthest distance I plan on is 5K. I have the Santa Dash booked in which I will be running with the girls, and also the Mo Run in November. The Mo run I am really looking forward to not only because of the great cause but also the medal looks fantastic.
In the past I have been part of the Mo sista crew for Movember and I thoroughly support the cause. I felt it important to highlight the 6 simple checks men can do to help Escape cancer, Infographic by Discount Supplements Code
After these two runs I have not booked in any more, as am taking each day at a time with the pregnancy. For now I have itchy feet and want to be out running every day, but am trying to take it steady. I look forward to my Saturday mornings when I can go and see my parkrun family and enjoy the volunteering as much as the running.
October therefore saw me complete my first [and quite possibly last] marathon, take a week off whilst I recover from the marathon and spend every Saturday at parkrun in either a running or volunteering role. It is safe to say running has become a part of me and I do miss it when I cannot run. I am hoping after October half term to return to 2-3 times a week running but it all depends on Thing 3.
