It's a Doddl

Anyone with young children knows that meal times can be fun, or at the very least interesting.  Most of the time things go OK, but there can be the odd tantrum about the food they are eating.  Added to this that they now no longer want to use the plastic cutlery but want a knife/fork.spoon like Mummy things can get rather stressful.

Doddl aims to revolutionise toddler meal times.  Doddl is aimed at children from 1 years to 5 years and quite simply put is a new concept in cutlery.  Each item works with the child and their development.  The spoon is designed to fit in the palm of the hand, the fork encourages a pincer grip which is important for writing and the knife supports the child’s hand and wrist whilst they learn to cut through food.

I decided to test these out with my youngest.  She had no problems using the fork to both scoop and stab the food.  The fork rotated with ease in her hand allowing her to do so.

When using the Doddl cutlery she no longer asks for her food to be chopped up as she can do it herself.  The blade of the knife is such that it chops food with ease but is safe for her to use.

The handle of the knife also mimics the correct grip needed for using adult cutlery.

It is safe to say the doddl cutlery has made meal times much less stressful and my daughter has much more independence.  I cannot wait for Little man to give them a go when he is bigger!

Thanks to doddl for sending us their cutlery to try, all words are my own opinion.
