This day I love.......: Plasticine

A Plasticine Softeez twitter party gave the girls the perfect excuse to use their imagination and play with their friends. Our party started by making marine life

My youngest in particular took a liking to making Octopus

All out guests took great pride in their Ocean scene, with the Octopus taking pride of place

We experimented with different colours, making new colours and marble patterns. Plasticine Softeez was perfect for our experiment

We were set a challenge to build the longest snake which everyone seemed to enjoy, this is the longest and the thickest.

Finally it was time for cake, well you cannot have a party without cake. The guests each coloured in and designed a cake before making one from Plasticine softeez

A wonderful afternoon filled with imagination and creativity. We really enjoyed being twitter party hosts for Plasticine Softeez and all our guests had great fun.

My eldest is in full birthday mode. Her party was last weekend but her birthday is in a few days time. This week has all been about birthday parties, birthday cake and presents. Today she decided to have her favourite teddy round for tea, a birthday tea to be precise. She made a special birthday cake [with a candle on top]

And she made some cupcakes,

Then sat down with her special friend for a birthday tea

She had placed a special place mat in front with lots of party food on it. They even sang happy birthday. After her party I asked her who she would like to come to her next tea party, 'Ben and Holly please Mummy'

We had a rather large box arrive this week full of goodies. Inside was everything we need for our Plasticine Softeez twitter party.

Plasticine Softeez is a new range that is to be launched this Autumn/Winter from Flair. We love playing with Plasticine and love the fact that it does not dry out. My girls love to create cakes and dinner with plasticine and I often find plasticine cakes in the play microwave. Plasticine softeez is easier to model that original plasticine and this makes it perfect for younger hands.

I find Plasticine very therapeutic. I think it is the texture, I sit and play with plasticine for ages before I realise that I have it in my hands. I also really love all the bright colours the Plasticine comes in

It was time to introduce the girls to Plasticine. They decided to make sandwiches, which for my youngest meant stacking the colour strips on top of each other and for my eldest rolling everything into balls.

The girls however soon got creative and started sticking colours onto other colours, making spots, stripes and teeth. They soon discovered that you can mix colours together to make new colours which provided them with a lot of amusement.

Plasticine makes a great gift for all ages and comes in a variety of different options, from tubs to simple sets. I know both myself and the girls [4 and 3] have loved playing with Plasticine and seeing what our imaginations can come up with.
