This day I love.......

Sunday

The Easter bunny paid a visit and left the girls Easter eggs all over the house.  My Mum came over and we took the girls to the local park for an Easter egg hunt.  They managed to find the eggs and won prizes on the tombola.  There was even a surprise visit from the Easter bunny himself.

Monday

We had a day in the garden and the girls and the dogs had rather a lot of fun digging holes looking for worms.

Tuesday

My eldest and I spent the day playing in the garden and generally enjoying the nice weather.

Wednesday

I took my eldest to an event at Eureka put on by ao.com.  The event looked at allergies and it was really informative.

Thursday

When the weather is nice there can only be one option for dinner, a picnic!

Friday

The girls are really enjoying using their CleverStix.  We had some fruit as snack in the garden and it was the perfect opportunity to use them.

Saturday

You cannot beat a game of dominoes in the garden

This post is a little late as I have had a few long nights with a poorly youngest, but I wanted to share our fun bank holiday when the weather was nice and sunny and not raining like its done all week.

We made the most of the sunny weather, I started the morning with a long walk with the girls in preparation for my three peaks challenge, [Please head over to my sponsorship page].  We spent all morning walking which was great and it was really lovely to be outside

After lunch we then went into the garden to plant some of our new plants.  I had two lovely helpers to dig holes for the plants

digging

All our garden with plants is pebble based with soil underneath it takes some digging so I was quite happy for some help.  My eldest loved digging, until she found a worm.  Not just any worm but a big fat one.

It did take some persuading but eventually she agreed to put the worm back in the garden so that it can look after the plants.  She was ever so pleased that she managed to find one.  I just love how happy she was for finding one.

This day I love a big fat worm.

'Mummy, lets go, come on Mummy lets go outside'

My eldest repeated this from 5.30am as she had awoken to sun and wanted to play outside on her bike.  Not wanting to pass the opportunity of a nice day out we went

My daughter could hear the neighbours cutting grass, so she wanted to do the same.  Only she decided to Mow the trampoline, I have no idea why.

'Where has the worm gone Mummy?' My eldest then asked me, remembering last time we went in the garden she held a worm.  We then set upon the task of finding her a worm

We found a rather long worm, which she decided was a snake.  She wanted to put it on the moss, as she said the snake lived here.

It was a really lovely day spent in the garden

This day I love snakes, bikes and mowing the trampoline

Today was a day to be brave.  9 years ago on this day my younger sister fell asleep, I remember every minute of that day like it was yesterday.  I needed to be brave, I needed to be strong for my girls.  They are too young to understand.  They came with me and my Mum to the grave.  In some ways it made it easier having them there.  My eldest wanted to help with the flowers and they were both ever so good

helping

When we came home I needed to keep busy to take my mind off things.  I love to be outdoors and so I spent the afternoon with the girls in the garden.  My eldest helped me plant some plants

planting

It was incredibly hard work as I had to move the pebbles in order to plant, but I hope it will all be worth it when the plants grow and the garden starts to attract wildlife.

Whilst digging we came across a worm.  My eldest loves animals when they are far away but if they come up close she gets very scared.  The same happened with the worm.  I picked it up to show her it was ok, she slowly came round to the idea.  After a few minutes she asked if she could hold the worm.  This was incredibly brave for my daughter to do

I am ever so proud of her for doing so.  She did not want to put the worm back into the ground.  After a long question and answer on the worm she finally agreed to put him back to look after the plants.
