I often try to present the girls food in an interesting or different way, as I believe that you tend to eat more with your eyes. By that I mean if you see it and it looks nice you will eat it, but if you see it and it looks a bit boring you tend to be less interested.
I have made swirl sandwiches in the past for the girls and they both have always really loved them. To make swirls:
Take one slice of bread and top with your chosen filling, Jam and chocolate spread work best
Cut off the crusts
Roll the bread into a log shape
Cut the log into sections
I have in the past laid these onto the plate and put little cheese sticks on the top to make it look like snails which the girls find funny.
I then made the girls a sandwich and used a star shape cutter to make a star for the sandwich. The girls really enjoyed lunch and its the first time I have had two empty plates and my eldest asked for more!
This day I love stars and swirls
