Pirates and Golf

Ahoy!  Today has been a wet yet fun day!  I took the girls to Pirate Island Adventure golf at Junction 32 Castleford.  It was the first time either of my girls had heard of golf, let alone played and I was excited to see what they would make of it.

Pirate Island Adventure golf is based at Junction 32 outlet just off M62 in Glasshoughton, Castleford.  It claims to be Yorkshire's biggest and best adventure golf experience and with a claim like this I was expecting a lot of fun.

We set sail ready for our swashbuckling quest after gathering together our crew, also known as Grandma and Auntie Tina, and went in search of Pirate Island.

Our boat landed at Junction 32 Castleford and we followed the signs for Pirate Island.  The girls immediately spotted the pirates and began to get very excited.

There are 2 18 holed courses and you can choose to do one or both.  We were assigned to skull cove as smugglers bay already had a few families playing on it.  I like this idea as it means there is less waiting for your turn and the girls could take their time without feeling the pressure of another family.

Before we could set a course for Skull Cove we first had an important decision to make, what colour ball would we each use?

Once the decision had been made we could start our quest.

We faced cannons, barrels, giant Octopus and even a crocodile

None of this could stop the girls from completing their quest.

There were lots of laughs and giggles and even the pouring rain could not stop a few holes in one

The girls had so much fun and my eldest started to enjoy it more as the game progressed.  My youngest started to develop her own game, which you will see in the video I have made of our day.  It was great fun and lovely to see them try something new.

We had such a fun family day together and we will be back to tackle Smugglers bay on another day.

This Day I love Pirates and Golf

Whilst we were provided with a complimentary game in exchange for a review, as you can see from the video the girls had a lot of fun.  All words and opinions are my own.
