This day I love.......: Gtech

Back in July leading retailer Argos predicted the top technology items for Christmas. These included Playstation VR, Canon SX420 bridge cameras, TomTom Sat Nav and Fitbit Blaze. The Playstation VR has made it onto the top of my husbands wish list and in 2015 I saw Playstation VR in action and was really impressed. I can understand why it is the top of my husband's list.

This year during Christmas in July several items have impressed me. During the Philips event I was impressed with the new range of Finding Dory lights with everything from nightlights to SoftPal. For gadgets in the home the Airfryer is a must have. It is quick and simple to use and would really help with some of the Christmas dinner too!

Fujifilm are adding two new colours to the INSTAX Mini 70 range, passion red and midnight black. I loved these cameras, with auto exposure control, selfie mode and self timer, all housed within a sleek, compact and modern looking body. Perfect for both serious photographers and those just wanting to capture the everyday.

Roberts radios are launching new products for Christmas. Their award winning radios are stylish and packed with a host of features. Roberts radios is a well known name and is one with trust and good quality associated with it. A Roberts radio would be a wonderful gift and one built to last.

One of my favourite Christmas in July events for technology was Currys PC World. Whilst they had a huge range of tech on display my favourite was the Star Wars Sphero BB-8. I loved how easy he was to control and it was so much fun watching him zip around the floor. This is sure to be a high sort after piece of tech for Christmas.

Gtech have launched two new products in time for Christmas. The new AirRam and the New Multi. The Multi features better suction and a new K9 version which comes with scents to help reduce pet odour. The new AirRam is very impressive.

The new AirRam is modular and can be assembled in under 20 seconds. Each piece carefully engineered to work together and slot into place. This makes it better for storage if you struggle for space, or if you needed to replace a part you do not need to replace the whole unit. The handle now slides so you can store the handle in a lower position, which is a great new feature.

The suction power has been increased and thanks to clever technology will now pick up even more from gaps between tiles too. I love how it is now able to clean on both the forward and backwards motion, and backwards works better for cleaning between spaces with no loss of suction. The new AirRam now tackles a change in surface with ease, and adapts as you move it along the floor.

The battery can now be removed for charging, so no need to have the whole unit stood out of the cupboard whilst charging. There are now lights on the front of the AirRam which make it easier to see those darker areas on the floor, it actually highlights pet hair really well. My favourite aspect though is how easy it is to empty. The bin simply slides out of the main unit and is emptied with a clever slider. This means that no dirt is left in the bin and the dirt simply slides out in one compact piece.

I am incredibly impressed with the new AirRam and all the advancements over the original. The AirRam also comes in a AirRam K9 model. This features slightly stronger suction and an air scent to help remove pet odours, it also has an extra spare filter in the box. I will be adding a video of the new AirRam shortly.

I have not been asked to write this guide, I attended the Gtech launch but was not asked to write about the new AirRam I simply really liked the new products.

I was always really scared of cutting our grass in case I cut the cord. Silly as that may sound, I would spend ages moving the cord out of the way and trying to continue to cut the grass. I can only image that it sometimes must have looked a right juggling act, as I threw the power cord to one side and struggled to continue to cut the grass.

The Gtech Cordless lawn mower runs on a powerful 36V Lithium-ion battery which gives up to 40 minutes run-time – enough to mow 384m2 (4,132ft2) or the average garden twice on a single charge. There are no cables to keep constantly moving out of the way, and I found it much quicker to cut the grass as a result.

The large wheels made the Gtech cordless lawn mower easy to push, and although we were cutting on damp grass encountered little problems in manoeuvring the lawn mower.

The Gtech cordless Lawn mower feels a good comfortable size when pushing across the lawn. It does not feel big and bulky and it is easy to see where the front of the mower is in order to make judgements of cutting the edge of the grass.

The compartment holds 40L of cuttings and there is a clever flap which lifts up to say when it is full. The storage bin is easy to remove and re attach, and the handle to do is is also of a good size.

The charge in the battery can be checked at any time by pressing the green button, and I particularly like this as I can then decide if to take a break whilst charging, or if there is enough to continue. The Gtech cordless lawn mower also has 6 height adjustments, between 3cm and 8cm. This is done by simply moving the handle up or down.

There was some charge available in the battery out of the box, but to get a full battery is 5 hours charging time. The Gtech cordless lawn mower has no assembly [other than putting the storage compartment and battery on]. It is worth noting that if the handle is not fully extended and clipped into place the Lawn mower will not start.

Starting the Lawn mower is also really easy, a push button and a pull of a lever, this is a great safety feature to stop the girls playing with the lawn mower. The handle is comfortable to hold and is slightly padded.

Another great feature of the Gtech is that when it is not in use it can be folded down so if space is a premium, particularly in garden shed, the Gtech would be perfect.

The Gtech cordless lawn mower makes cutting the lawn a lot easier, it is simple to use and has different heights to suit different lawns and preferences.

I am looking forward to nicer weather so I can get out and cut the grass again!

We recently reviewed the Gtech AirRam K9 and we still absolutely love using it. However it did present with a few problems, the first was cleaning the stairs, the second was edges and the final was cleaning the car. This however can be solved with the Gtech Multi.

The Gtech Multi is a handheld cordless vacuum cleaner. I have used cordless handheld cleaners in the past but nothing as powerful as this. It takes 4 hours for a full charge, or you can do a quick 1 hour boost, and a charge lasts 20 - 30 minutes. There are power light indicators on the handle to let you know how much charge there is left. At 38 weeks pregnant my nesting instincts have been wanting to clean the car for ages and thanks to the Gtech Multi I easily cleaned the whole car!

With 2 dogs we obviously need a cleaner that is able to pick up dog hair, and the Gtech Multi handles this with ease. I put minimal effort into cleaning the car but there were no dog hairs left behind. The Gtech Multi comes with multiple attachments:

Crevice tool
Power Brush
Dusting brush
36cm (14-inch) extension tube
Extendable hose

There is also the option to purchase a car accessory kit, which I have to say I am currently tempted to buy.

The handle on the Gtech Multi has a lovely moulded grip making it sit nicely in your hand and it is very lightweight so is easy to carry and use. As it is light weight you can easily clean the ceilings [you know those times you spot that cobweb you thought you got a while ago] and also the Extendable hose means you can also dust the skirting boards without having to bend down [I am 5ft4 and could do this with ease].

Other than how easy it is to clean the car and the edges of the floors it makes really light work of cleaning the stairs. I have to say it is worth every penny if just for cleaning the stairs. At 38 weeks pregnant I managed to clean our stairs in 10 minutes and with ease. I have displaced hips and so am in quite a bit of pain, plus with a very low bump I cannot pick things up or bend down easily. Yet I was able to clean the stairs with ease and with no discomfort.

As you would expect with a handheld cleaner the bin compartment is small, but I could manage all the stairs or the whole car without having to empty it. The bin is easy to remove, and the filters are washable.

The Gtech Multi really compliments the Gtech AirRam K9 and offers a complete cleaning solution. It is certainly worth having both. As a handheld cordless vacuum cleaner I am incredibly impressed at how easy to use the Gtech Multi really is and how powerful. Anything which makes cleaning the car and the stairs easy and can pick up dog hair with ease is a winner!

With two young children and 2 dogs running around it can be said that keeping our floor clean can be very time consuming. If I do not sweep or vacuum the floor daily the build up of hair is noticeable. My eldest daughter eczema is also triggered by dust and this is one of the reasons we have laminate/wooden/tile floors in almost every room.

I am now 27weeks pregnant and have been advised not to run the vacuum around because it is too heavy. I tore my abdominal muscles and have had problems with my pelvis so anything heavy can aggravate the problem and could lead to further complications. This means our current vacuum cleaner is too heavy for me to lift.

Imagine my excitement when an email arrived from Gtech to ask if I would like to try the new Gtech AirRam K9 vacuum cleaner. The Gtech AirRam K9 is lightweight and weighs just 3.8kg, this is the same as my daughter weighed at birth. It is therefore lightweight enough for me to use and as it has a specially designed brush-bar to resist the build up of pet hair it is perfect for cleaning up after our two dogs

I was very excited when the Gtech AirRam K9 arrived, it was actually as light weight as expected. I was not sure what to expect as I have never used a cordless vacuum before and I was in some ways expecting there to be lots of pieces to assemble, especially when I saw the size of the box. I was however really surprised, you simply clip the handle in place, then insert the battery and that is it ready to go. There was also have a charge in our Gtech AirRam K9 which was around 20 minutes.

The Gtech AirRam K9 uses around 100W of energy whereas an average upright cleaner uses 1360W and has around a 40minute run time on a single charge. It also comes with a Limited 2 year guarantee. On laminate/tiles/wooden floors it simply glides along and you really do not have to put any effort into using it at all. With carpets there is slightly more resistance but it is still really easy to manoeuvre. It can also be used almost complete flat, meaning it can get under the bed to clean there only limited by the height of the AirRam itself.

Never having used a cordless vacuum before I was a little sceptical at how well it would actually clean. Given that we have two dogs there is a fair bit of dog hair to collect. I was so surprised and even my husband said that the cleaning power of the Gtech AirRam K9 is far superior to that of our current vacuum cleaner.

There are a few things you do need to be aware of though with the Gtech AirRam K9. The brush bar is only able to pick up dirt on the forward motion, so if you run the cleaner backwards it will drag the dirt towards you, however going over the same spot in a forward action will pick it up. Not a problem but worth remembering. We were unable to use the Gtech AirRam K9 to clean stairs or small spaces such as the car. There is a solution for this and that is the Gtech Multi. The Gtech Multi is a handheld cordless solution to cleaning hard to reach places such as the car and stairs.

We live in a 4 bedroom detached house and a 40 minute charge is almost enough to clean the entire house. We can certainly do all of the upstairs or all of the downstairs on one charge, but we need a little extra to do the full house. There is a 1 hour boost charge which works to finish the rest of the house. We tend to empty the dust tray after every other room, less upstairs because the dogs are not allowed upstairs. There is a red warning light that comes on to say the tray is full.

Emptying the dust tray is really easy to do. The dirt is compressed into bales so can be simply tipped out of the tray and into the bin. We haven't had any issues with tangling of hair in the brush bar, but we do tend to try and stay on top of long hair by cutting it off the bar at the end of each use. The Gtech AirRam K9 is incredibly impressive at lifting dog hair from carpet, even hair that has got wound into the carpet it seems to lift with no issue.

Overall we have been really impressed with the Gtech AirRam K9 cordless vacuum cleaner. We are hoping to try the Gtech Multi next year and hope that this in addition to the Gtech AirRam K9 provides a complete cleaning solution. The Gtech AirRam K9 is certainly a powerful cordless vacuum cleaner that if you have children and or pets will provide you with a great solution to keeping your floors clean and pet hair free.
