This day I love.......

Two weeks in one as I missed the closing time for last weeks linky.

Sunday

We managed to get some work done on the BIG project and put up our horse swing.  My daughter loves her horse and it is fast becoming one of her favourite items outside.

Monday

My girls spent the day with their Grandma and Auntie.  My husband and I treated ourselves to a takeaway and the girls came home in time to 'help' us with it!

Tuesday

We had some current buns as a treat and my eldest kept singing 'five current buns in the bakers shop'

Wednesday

It was national play day and once I had picked up the girls from nursery we spent the rest of the evening playing.  My eldest took this photo of us.

Thursday

The day the castle arrived!  I won a Little Tikes Castle in a competition on Twitter and it arrived today.  The girls really adore it and have so much fun exploring it.

Friday

I took my eldest daughter to the cinema for the first time to see Monsters University.  She really loved the film and the experience and has been asking to go again.

Saturday

I spent the day making the cake for my eldest third birthday.  We were having a rainbow themed party and i wanted to use sweets to decorate the cake.

Sunday

My eldest was very tired after her birthday party and fell asleep in her Monsters PJ.

Monday

My eldest was given a pair of Monsters Uni trainers as a birthday present and she will not take them off.  I absolutely love them

Tuesday

My youngest hair is starting to get a little out of control, it appears to have had a bit of a growth recently.

Wednesday

It was a rather sad day today as I  attended the funeral of a friend of mine from college.  The rest of the day passed by with a bit of a blur as I remembered college and my friend and hunted for the photos of my college years.  They must be in a box I have not yet unpacked.  My eldest new 'big girl' bed arrived and the girls helped me to put it together.  Best way to take your mind off things is to build a bed.

Thursday

The girls are unsettled at night and this was my youngest 5 am wake up face.  Happy smiley and giggling!

beautiful wake up call

Friday

We took a lovely walk in the evening with some close friends and my daughter had fun exploring with her friend.  It was lovely watching them play together and climb trees.

Saturday

With it raining outside my eldest declared we needed to build a boat.  We spent the day making boats and then tested them in the bath.

My eldest daughter has a slight obsession with Monsters Inc.  We are currently on our second copy of the DVD as she has worn out the first.  She saw in the shops a packet of bun mix with Monsters Inc on the box.  Then came the prompt of Mummy I want Mike and Sulley cakes.

Today we made our Mike and Sulley cakes.  I am not one normally for pre mixed ingredients I like to experiment and make myself but on the odd occasion I do not mind.  So we got to work mixing the ingredients in a bowl

getting ready to make cakes

I normal crack the egg for her but today she wanted to try herself.  So I gave her an egg, brave move.   She squeezed it and nothing happened, she tapped it with a spoon and it cracked.  She was ever so pleased with herself.

She mixed all the ingredients together and placed the mixture into the bun cases.  After the cakes had cooked and cooled down we set about icing them and sticking on our Monsters inc pictures.  When she got to the picture of Randall she said, 'Randall Naughty'.

I love that she made these cakes all by herself and that she recognised the characters from Monsters inc.

That afternoon I noticed her playing with my phone.  She had discovered the camera.  I scrolled through all the photos she took and this one I really love

I just love that she managed to take a photo of herself and her sister with me in the background.

A crafty activity which I found on Pinterest occupied both girls for the rest of the day.  My eldest had some pipe cleaners in an activity pack.  Getting a little fed up of making snakes, worms and caterpillars I had looked for another activity to do and this is when I found this

My eldest would pass the pipe-cleaners through the holes on the sieve to create patterns and then we would turn it over to pull the 'wriggly worms' which my youngest thought was rather fun.  I cannot believe how something so simple has kept both girls entertained for so long as we played this game for most of the afternoon.

This day I love Mike and Sulley, Mummies phone and Pipe cleaners
