This weekend has probably been the first weekend this year that we have been able to get into the garden to start tidying up. Tidying up is what we did, well we made a start. We went around picking up the twigs
and then the leaves
We made some 'leaf' castles which my eldest thought was loads of fun. We explored the leaves for the many creatures that maybe inside and we found this
We found some lovely creepy crawlies and my eldest loved watching them.
After some exploring and filling up a huge bag of leaves the girls and I had a play in the garden
After all the bouncing and tidying up we had a lie down on the trampoline and looked up at the Oak tree to watch for birds

We love crunching through the leaves too - can't wait to see green ones growing again - bring on Summer!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the green leaves too, though not the clear up again
DeleteZ loves the leaves, mostly kickin and jumping on them a lot!! We've never tried trampolining yet though!
ReplyDeleteTrampolining is loads of fun my eldest loves it
DeleteLeaves are great fun, as are trampolines, we've just bought one for our eldests birthday. and they both love it. Is that a beetle of some kind on that leaf
ReplyDeleteYes its a beetle no idea what kind though, hoping someone might tell me
DeleteA lovely afternoon together in the garden. It won't be long before you are looking up at that same oak through a covering of green leaves. I hope you will share that same picture then.
ReplyDeleteI shall take a photo just for you
Deletei love hearing twigs crunch under my foot when they are crisp and dry and i step on them! reminds me of my childhood.they are good girls for getting stuck in and helping to clear up the garden x
ReplyDeleteThe girls loved the crunch noise too
Deleteah love the bouncing on the trampoline ones :)
ReplyDeleteMy girls love their trampoline
DeleteIt's fab that you are encouraging your girls to be interested in insects. So many parents have an irrational fear of insects and pass it on to their kids. Lovely photos :)
ReplyDeleteWe often go on bug hunts, think its good for them to explore
DeleteI love the fact you were building leaf castles :-)
ReplyDeleteYep, had to improvise no sand
DeleteWhat a stunning tree, is that in your garden? I love the 'tidying up', I should get The Boy to help me with this as the garden is an absolute tip!
ReplyDeleteNipping over from Country Kids linky.

DeleteWe've been spending lots of time in the garden too...although no gardening (ours is still just a paddock after 10 years!)
ReplyDeletePopping in from Country kids
A paddock sounds like it could be fun, have you anything in it?
DeleteWhat a great post, the girls look like they had a fabulous time! POD experienced leaves for the first time yesterday - falling in them that is! Jealous you have a trampoline, always wanted one. Hope your first day back at work been ok x
