Review : Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes from Younique

I always write honest reviews and with that in mind I decided that the best person to write a review of the Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes from Younique would be my sister.  She has written freelance for health and beauty magazines and also previously ran her own beauty blog.  My sister knows beauty and so I am really pleased she agreed to review Moonstruck 3D Fiber lashes.

My generous sister has handed over an early Christmas present for me today, in the form of  Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes. I was pretty excited from the moment I saw the packaging; a sleek black snap box with luxury padding effect, embossed in silver with the 'younique' logo – super glam!

Inside there are 2 black tubes laying side by side in a velvet bed like a very posh mascara set. Only one tube is a transplanting gel made up of beeswax and Brazilian palm glue, and the other holds the natural fibres, made from 100% natural green tea fibres!

My current mascara is great, I love it, I think it gives a nice curve with just the right length and thickness, but I have to admit, on a night out I do envy the girls with the falsies. I've tried to wear them myself before but I usually end up with a half on half off look and a twitchy, sticky eye.  I was therefore looking forward to the prospect of a more dramatic look.

Inside the fancy casing the product comes with a 4 step application guide, tips and a list of ingredients. Starting with a thin layer of your own mascara, you then add the transplanting gel followed by the natural fibres, to build up thicker, fuller lashes. At first I was a bit clumsy and ended up with a few too many fibres on my cheeks and eye lids, but once I'd got the hang of it I was building them up like a pro.

I have to say for me personally it's not the most natural look, but it beats the falsies. You can make them just as thick and long as you would have with fake lashes, its easier to apply and more comfortable to wear, and lets face it if your looking for falsies you're probably not wanting a natural look anyway.
