New shoes for Big girls

My eldest has been asking for a new pair of school shoes.  She comes home from school telling me her shoes do not fit her and that she needs a new pair.  My eldest has slim feet and we struggle to find her shoes to fit.  I decided we would go and get her feet measured to make sure her school shoes still fit.  Not wanting to venture into the town centre on the weekend I opted to visit Brantano Footwear as they are situated in a retail park and I knew I would be able to park, even on Saturday.

The girls ran inside and immediately spotted the wide range of wellington boots.  I don't think they had seen so many colours and choices.

The shoes were all organised by size, the larger sizes seemed to have much more choice as children's sizes 4-9 seemed to take up the same space as ladies size 12.  The girls still has plenty to choose from.  They could choose all types from trainers, to sandals, to boots and every colour and favourite character.  They even spotted Frozen shoes.

Not knowing exactly their size the girls took advantage of the free measuring service.

After finding someone to measure the girls feet, the girls took it in turns to have them measured.

My eldest measured a 9F, her feet wider but still the same length as her school shoes.  My youngest however was in size 8E shoes and she measured a 9 1/2 F.  It would appear that my youngest needed new shoes.  The girls were each given a leaflet with their shoe size on and a sticker.  We were then advised to have their feet measured every 3 months.

Knowing the girls sizes it was now time to make the difficult decision of which one they liked.  My eldest worked out that several of the shoes had flashing lights in and my youngest seemed to be drawn to everything sparkly.

The girls were able to try on any of the shoes they wanted, as both shoes were out meaning we did not have to keep asking for another shoe.  The girls tried on lots of different shoes before finally settling on a pair of Frozen flashing shoes and a sparkly pair of flashing trainers.

It also appeared that on the way out we had to purchase a pair of wellington boots.

The girls loved choosing new shoes and having their feet measured.  I loved that it was reasonably priced and the girls got so much choice.
