I remember Britmums Live last year. I was incredibly excited and spent most of the train journey bouncing. This year was different, it felt different. No longer one of the newbies and yet I felt new. I felt like a fake, that I should not be going and I would not belong. The fact that for the past 10 months I have not been as active on social media as I would have liked or given my blog as much attention as it deserved began to play tricks with my mind. Accompanied with the guilt of having not read or commented on as many blogs as I used to, was and still is eating away at me. I knew somewhere at some point in the event I would trip up and say something and would be given a response or look of don't you read my blog.

I was so lucky to be travelling to Britmums this year with my friend Lisa from Hollybobbs. We talked things through and I realised that this needed to be the new start [or the kick start] I was looking for and so desperately needed. We went to the hotel first and then proceeded to walk the 5 minutes to the venue.

I met Mummy Barrow, T, and her other half [for some reason I really want to write Mr T but I know that is not right] in the queue and everything seemed to disappear. All those feelings of not belonging just went. I began to relax and to look at the event as a new beginning.

It was really lovely to see people again. Lovely to have met in person Hannah from aNewaddition and to catch up with Claire Ninjakillercat who I fell like it is an eternity since we last saw each other. I apologised to many about not joining in with Linkys, I will get there I promise. I congratulated the winners of the BIBs and it was so lovely to see some of the amazing blogs I have read for so long win awards. I did put my foot in it with WallyMummy, I hope she forgives me?

You made me feel welcome and helped me to find my belief and passion again. I left Britmums having learnt a lot, laughed a lot and with a whole new outlook. I felt on top of the world

This Day I love Britmums Live 2014

After a weekend of the incredible high that was Britmums live, I was feeling emotionally and physically tired on the journey home. My journey had consisted of a two hour journey from London to Manchester, catching the last train to Leeds and then finally catching the last train out of Leeds home. Each train journey saw me dashing between trains to catch the next with a rather heavy case. Whilst I don't normally write posts like this I needed to put this in writing.

My final train journey out of Leeds was one of the most horrendous experiences of my life. There was a cricket match on in Leeds plus it was a Saturday night, therefore my logical brain says that there should be either an increase in trains to cope with demand or a train with more than two carriages put on for the last train out.

I got on board the train, which was already full think London Underground full but then more people started getting on. Staff on the platform kept putting more and more people on the train telling us to move down. People piled on the train. I was shoved into the door, completely squashed. Every inch of that train was packed with people. It was incredibly hot. No one could move but more people were been shoved on. Then the first fight broke out. I do not know who started it, all I saw was a punch been thrown, a random arm which caught other people on the way. People trying to move out the way with no where to go. The ricochet of this caused more fights further down the train, tempers flew and harsh words were thrown around the train. I just wanted to get out and get off the train. Get home.

The train doors opened and people started to be pulled off the train. There was no explanation, just manhandled off the train. People began getting wound up and standing their ground. It was then that I saw the yellow vest of the police office and my bid for freedom took over. I got off the train. It was then made clear by staff on the platform that we were been transferred to another train, one with four carriages. At least it was clear to me, sober me.

The train driver got off the train, he had clearly had enough. We were late over 20 minutes and no one on the train was listening, It was chaos. Once on the platform I asked one of the staff members if they could make sure police were on the train. I'm not sure why I did. Tempers were still high, you could feel it in the air. Frustrated that they were late home, slightly drunk from a night out, anger that the original train wasn't adequate and confused as to the current situation.

The new train with twice as many carriages was still packed. People still had to stand up, all the seats were taken. This train wasn't as hot and there was slightly more room to breathe. People were still angry and telling every police office who would listen that they saw nothing. By this point I was just tired and just thankful that there was a police presence on this train.

I was really disappointed with how things were handled on the train. What would have happened if there had been a medical emergency? That train was hot, and I mean hot. There was little room to breathe, I felt trapped. People could have very easily been crushed, it could have turned into a disaster. Why were people continued to be shoved onto the train? Why was the 4 carriage train not used originally or earlier? Things should have changed sooner, it would have prevented the hot tempers. There should have been a stop to people getting on that train and there should have been extra measures taken to meet the increase demand on public transport that evening. For me I am just thankful I made it home in one piece.

This weekend I attended Britmums Live 2013. I still cannot quite believe it. It was a totally amazing experience and one that would not have been possible if it was not for my amazing sponsors Yoomi. Yoomi have also had an amazing weekend having just won not one but two Silver Loved by Parent awards, Many congratulations.

I attended some fantastic sessions over the course of two days. I have two areas in particular I wanted to focus on. The first of which is photography. I would love to be able to capture better photos of the girls. It was great that there were several sessions that I could attend on photography and some that focused on smart phone photography, which is great as I don't yet own a camera. I tried to put some of the things I learnt in the sessions in use today to take this picture on my phone, I would love to know what you think

Another area I wanted to look at was Pinterest. Its an on line tool which, if I am totally honest, I do not fully understand how to use. This was my aim to understand better and to have more confidence to use. The session was fantastic and gave me lots of ideas that I want to put in to practise.

As well as all the amazing sessions there was also the chance to meet some amazing brands. I want to say a huge thank you to all the brands that attended Britmums Live, it was fantastic to meet you all.

The Visit Orlando team had a green screen and we made a virtual postcard, having watched it I am not going to rush into acting any time soon, but it was a lot of fun. I think I need to plan a holiday to Orlando just to escape the embarrassment of the video

Which I must admit to visiting on more than one occasion. Amongst the many celebrities walking around which included Katy Hill, Kirstie Allsopp I managed to have my picture taken with two, Hedwig from Harry Potter and Alex from Madagascar

The best thing by far was to meet all those wonderful people I have become friends with on line in real life. It was such an amazing experience, one I will never forget. I have learnt a lot, laughed a lot and made some friends for life. Thank you Yoomi for sponsoring me for Britmums Live 2013.

When I started blogging, I never fully imagined either how much I would enjoy it or how wonderful the blogging community would be. I started on the 26th October 2012 and wanted to capture the precious moments. Since that time thisdayilove has grown into so much more. It is a way for me to stay focused and positive on a daily basis. I make sure that the girls and I do something everyday even when we are poorly or tired from lack of sleep. I have had comments and emails from others who say the blog has helped them to stay focused and positive.

Thisdayilove has helped me capture all those precious first, the first time my eldest said I love you and the first time my youngest saw snow. There are loads more firsts to come, first steps, first day at school all will be recorded for the girls.

I would like to improve my blogging skills not only how to write better but also to take better photos. As my daughters grow from babies into beautiful girls I want to capture the changes. I would like to capture them playing together and those general cheeky moments that make me laugh ever so much, the precious memories. I want to record these memories better too and learn how social media tools such as Pinterest can be best used to help me.
