This day I love.......

We have been really privileged to be sent two new books from Miles Kelly.  The books are both in the same range and follow the same principal, but with different stories written by Camilla de la Bedoyere.

'Where is the bear?' and 'On the trail of the Whale' are Super search adventure books.  Each page is full of information, puzzles and things to spot, along with the story.  The covers open out and are wipe clean which means children can write and tick off animals as they spot them.

I love the colourful quirky illustrations in each book even though illustrated by different people they both offer the same look and feel, which is great for continuity in the series.  The pages open up plenty of discussion around the animals and their habitat and the girls love to spot and find the clues and animals as we go.

These are wonderful books and although suited for ages 5+ my four year old loves them too.  They make a great resource for discussing different animals and their habitats.  Each time we read them we discover something new and this keeps the magic of learning alive.   They are amazing value for money and would make a fantastic gift.

All words are my own opinion.

Miles Kelly have recently released a range of sticker play books.  There are currently 4 titles in the series:

Little Red Riding Hood
Cinderella
The Wheels on the Bus
Old MacDonald had a Farm

The sticker books are beautifully illustrated and the stories are easy to read.  The stories really engaged both my girls aged 4 and 2, and the activities were a perfect way to gain their interest.  The story books are double sided and fold out to become a play mat.  The girls and I sat down in front of our book so we could read and take part in the activities.

Each sticker book contains 50 vinyl stickers which can be reused.  The sticker activities cover words, colours, shapes, numbers, which offers a great range for the girls.  The use of the stickers for these activities helps to develop cognitive and fine motor skills and helps to play a vital role in school readiness.  As the stories are fun the girls want to engage with them.  My eldest loves to read the words and my youngest takes part in activities such as recognising shapes and colour.

Once we had read our books and completed the activities we could fold the books back up and store them away neatly.  The Miles Kelly Sticker play books are a great way to learn using fun and imagination.

We were sent 2 Miles Kelly sticker books for review.  All words are my own opinion.

On the 6th March is world book day. It is no secret the girls and I love books and enjoy reading together and so we were thrilled to be asked to take part in Miles Kelly world book day secret blogger! We were sent a blogger, who i shall keep secret, and ask to pick a book for from the Miles Kelly site. I had a lot of fun reading the blog, although it was one I am very familiar with, and choosing a book for them. I hope they liked it. Our book arrived and the girls really love it. We received a convertible book, and this one converts to a princess carriage.

The great thing about the convertible book is that the girls can either sit and read a story with me, I can turn it into a play mat for them or make it into a carriage for them to play with. It is very versatile and has many uses. The book is sturdy when made into the carriage too and my girls love to sit in it and play. They have even had a picnic in the carriage. The colours are very bright and this has certainly become a favourite of my eldest.

The girls really love their book from our secret world book day blogger. Why not take a look at the miles Kelly web site and pick a book to give as a surprise for some one this world book day? I would highly recommend the convertible range!

The girls and I have a real love for books, so when we were recently offered the chance to have a look round the new Miles Kelly website we jumped at the chance.

The website is very simply laid out. The clean white background makes things very easy to find and the bright colours really make the website appear fun. The coloured tabs at the top allow for quick and simple navigation, whilst at the bottom of the site is a simple to use site map. The logo also has had a design upgrade and the design choice reminds me of Quentin Blake, which bring back found childhood memories.

The kids corner is packed full of ideas with things to do for the children. Baking, colouring and challenges. Some are even themed, with a Christmas fairy over Christmas time.

I had no problems using the search facility or even finding books for the girls. I could search via topic, brand and age to help me find the right books for the girls. Each book contains a description and a chance to have a look inside the book. There are also recommendations similar to the title you have chosen. These are great features of the site making it clear to choose exactly what you needed.

I was provided with £10 Credit to place an order through the site. I selected three books for the girls and found the whole process very quick and simple. I had no issues with the ordering process and there was the added advantage of free postage and packaging to the UK. I feel I shall be shopping more with Miles Kelly as the site was very easy to use.
