This day I love.......

We went to sleep watching the snow fall and woke up next morning to a second snow day. School cancelled once again. Potty training put on hold and three children to entertain with no where to go. Our street had been turned into an ice rink. Not safe to walk on or drive a car on. Little Man wasn't too fussed about venturing outside and instead opted to build towers with the food tins.

We did venture out briefly after lunch but no one wanted to stay out for too long. The snow was icy and not as much fun to play in. J didn't seem to mind and was still as confused about where a snowball disappears to.

Whilst I got dinner ready the girls and Little Man decided to work together to complete the Ravensburger Paddington Bear Giant Floor Puzzle. The Giant Floor puzzle has 60 large pieces. Big enough for even Little Man to have a go at building.

He had a few attempts but mostly watched his bigger sisters put the pieces together. The pieces were bright, bold and really colourful. It is perhaps no wonder he was so interested in watching the jigsaw take shape.

Little Man loved the finished floor puzzle. He loved he could sit on it. He loved all the bright colours and patterns. He kept looking over at his sisters and smiling. I don't think he could quite believe what they had done. He was so happy. It was lovely watching the three of them play together especially given their age ranges I was surprised that something could keep all three of them entertained together.

Our question for the evening was would there be a third snow day?

The Paddington puzzle was sent for review, all words are my own opinion.

Having had a very full on week which involved travelling to and from London 3 times and my total hours of sleep less than the number of days in the week I really wanted a lie in this Sunday.  Unfortunately it was not to be, as I have kids with a love for the outdoors and exploring and so before most people had even opened their eyes we were out exploring the local park.

The crisp November air had a lovely fresh feel to it in the early hours and it was a great way to blow away the cobwebs and start a Sunday morning.  The girls wrapped up warm in their coats from JoJo Maman Bébé.

Having two children in the same sized clothes can often be expensive as there are no hand me downs to be had.  Their love to play outside and explore means I also need to buy clothes that can withstand mud and multiple washes, our washing machine is never off, and keep the girls warm as they explore and go on their adventures.  JoJo Maman Bébé have thought of this with their multi buy offer.  Buying clothes for the girls has never been easier.

The coats the girls are wearing also came in other colours and patterns, and are fleece lined.  They are also reversible and so will last through all seasons, except perhaps summer.  The girls love the chunky easy to use zips and my youngest is asking me to buy her some gloves to attach to the glove hooks inside the sleeves.  They have certainly kept both girls warm through fireworks and through our morning stroll.

The girls loved running through the leaves and jumping over the piles of leaves that had been created.  Although Little Man was in his pushchair he was beginning to get grumpy so we headed home.  We completed homework and reading and then settled down to complete a jigsaw.

The girls decided to complete their new Ravensburger puzzle, Woodland Friends.  The giant pieces were easy to assemble and a great size for both girls to handle.  Little Man was very interested in the jigsaw and kept crawling over to take a look.  It was perhaps the bright, colourful pictures that were drawing in his attention but he was very interested in the jigsaw.

Woodland friends kept the girls [and Little Man] busy for a good hour.  The assembly was quick and simple but it was the discussion afterwards that followed.  The girls asking if we had the birds in our trees that live in the garden.  Asking the names of each bird, which I could answer as there is a handy guide included and asking if we could try and spot them in our garden too.

We spotted the birds on the jigsaw and then headed into the garden to see if we could spot any birds.  It was really interesting and a great way to discuss the birds leaving for the winter months.  Although only afternoon it had begun getting dark and due to the lack of birds we decided to head back inside for a snack before dinner.

I may not have got my Sunday lie in but I did get to spend lots of time with my little people.

This day I love Sunday Antics!

Jigsaw and coats were sent in exchange for this post, all words are my own opinion.

Jigsaw and puzzles are a firm favourite in our house.  We often do a jigsaw late afternoon as a wind down technique for the girls before bed.  When we had our delivery for our Ravensburger Puzzles twitter party I was very excited.  The parcel contained a huge assortment of puzzles, everything from 3D puzzles which we have never attempted to giant floor puzzles.

We started with our giant floor puzzle, Alphablocks which was a huge hit before moving onto a Minions Vs Frozen competition,  It was a close call but Frozen won the day.

Colouring is always a fun part of our twitter parties and gives us chance for snack

One of the colouring activities was a little different as once finished we made them into our own jigsaws! This was loved by everyone and once the first one was complete the others quickly followed.  Since the twitter party the girls have been making lots of jigsaws

Before long it was time for the final part of the twitter party.  We opted to do the inside out jigsaw and actually missed the end of the twitter party on twitter because we were so engrossed in the jigsaw.  We might take our time to do jigsaws but we love them!

Our twitter party might have run on longer than the party on twitter but all our guests enjoyed themselves and loved the goodie bags at the end!

Thanks to Ravensburger for selecting us to be twitter party hosts and providing such amazing puzzles for the party.
