My daughter asked to go to Legoland for her birthday and as it is quite some distance to drive we decided to look for somewhere to stay. I checked the Internet for somewhere to stay that would accommodate all 5 of us for 3 nights and stumbled upon the Lexington Apartments in Slough.
The apartments are located next to Slough train station, the station is the other side of the road, or a short drive from the M40 [less than 5 minutes]. There is a secure underground car park which is located off Mill street towards the back of the apartment complex and entry is via a key card. We booked and paid for car parking and I would advise doing the same if you are taking a car, as there is very limited parking near by.
Our apartment was located on the fourth floor and was a two bedroom apartment. Each bedroom was clean, tidy and had a double bed and wardrobe.
There was ample space in either room for me to use our travel cot. There was one in the apartment but I prefer to use our own. Although the train station was straight across the street we could only hear the noise from the train if the windows were open. The girls and Little Man were not disturbed by any street noise, train noise or plane noise with the windows closed.
What had attracted us to the Lexington apartments was the freedom to dine as we please. There are a great range of takeaways and restaurants near by and a Tesco supermarket across the road. The apartment had a clean and modern kitchen with microwave, oven, hob, grill, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
Kitchen, Dining and Living is all open plan and the girls had somewhere to relax after Legoland and before dinner. Once the girls and Little Man had settled for the night we had somewhere to unwind without disturbing them, which we would not have had in a hotel.
Whilst there was a secured balcony area we decided to keep the patio doors locked, just in case our adventurous children tried anything. On an evening it did give quite fantastic views over Slough.
Lexington Apartments in Slough provided us with a great base for Legoland, which was approximately 15 minutes away by car. There was the option to catch the train to Legoland but we chose to drive. Trains were really regular from Slough train station to Windsor. The apartments were clean, modern and family friendly. We would certainly use them again should we need to stay in the area.
