This day I love.......

Last week we were kindly invited to Gamezstation 6th birthday party. For transparency purposes I haven’t been asked or paid to write anything but we had such a good time I wanted to share our experience.

Gamezstation was started in 2013 by Scott and Kirsty Deighton and is a mobile gaming party. They have two vans, named Mario and Vinnie, and each are kitted out with 12 gaming seats and 6 consoles. Gamezstation takes their gaming vans to locations within a 65 mile radius of Leeds and are perfect for a range of events, including birthday parties, summer fairs and corporate event days. You can hire either one or both vans.

During the birthday party the girls and Little Man got to experience the vans. Little Man loved playing Mario Kart, my youngest daughter played Marvel and my eldest daughter Minecraft. We had other people playing a variety of other games too, which was great that they could all play something different whilst sitting on the same van.

In fact, I struggled to get them out of the van. They loved the choice of games, the comfy gaming seats and the lighting in the van too. All the three of them were enjoying themselves.I decided we should see the rest of the celebrations and so we headed inside. We were greeted with retro consoles, the girls did not seem impressed but I had childhood flashbacks as I played Mario Kart on the SNES.

At the back of the room we met the charity TheRockinR. They are an absolutely fantastic charity. Founded by the father of late games- lover 10 year old Reece who sadly passed away from a brain tumour. The charity bring mobile gaming units to those children and young people who are in hospital or hospices or those who may be immobile or have limited access to activities. It helps to provide some normality in an otherwise difficult situation.

We took part in the balloon pop raffle which raised over £1000 for TheRockinR and managed to win a controller and some branded clothing. The girls were a little disappointed they didn’t win the signed Leeds Utd shirt, who happen to have a GamesPod in their family stand, but over the moon with the controller win.

It was time for pizza from the catering van and to listen to the speeches with birthday cake. Well you can’t have  a party without the cake. No one wanted to leave, they wanted to play some more games and so that’s exactly what we did staying right until the end of the evening.

Gamezstation could not have been more welcoming and put on a great party. The girls loved the gaming vans and have both now decided that is exactly what they want for their parties next year. I have to agree it was a rather fun evening!

I cannot believe that in a weeks time my eldest daughter starts junior school!  I can remember junior school.  Everything from lessons to the teachers and the games we played.  I was one of the eldest in my class but my eldest daughter is one of the youngest and celebrates her birthday in the school holidays.  As the majority of her friends are away we always try and go out for the day to somewhere a bit special and this year we went to Nottingham to see Paw Patrol Live.

It is rare that I can find something that keeps all 3 of my children entertained at the same time, but Paw Patrol Live managed this.  My youngest daughter at 5 is Paw Patrol obsessed so she was shouting and cheering along with the story.  Her face at the interval was an absolute picture, both out of excitement for the rest of the story and her processing how the first part of the story unfolded.  My eldest was enjoying the story line and the fact it was her birthday.  She was joining in and cheering.  The show was incredibly engaging and had lots of moments for the audience to participate in, I felt the show went rather quickly and it no where near felt as long as it should have.

Little Man was completely engrossed.  For a child that refuses to watch TV, unless it is a game show, I was remarkably impressed.

All 3 of my children left with huge smiles on their faces after a really amazing performance.  It was onward after the arena to a Paw Patrol surprise party for my eldest daughter.

She had no idea we had planned a surprise for her afterwards.  We had put up paw patrol bunting and decorated the main table with paw patrol decorations and table cloth.  There were dog themed cup cakes and treats, as well as Paw Patrol table ware.

Everything we needed for a perfect Paw Patrol surprise party.  We even had Paw Patrol goodies in our party bags, which of course were Paw Patrol themed.  All our Paw Patrol party supplies had been sent from Party Delights.

My eldest had the perfect Paw Patrol birthday, with everything from watching them live to a surprise themed party.  What more could she have asked for?

With thanks to Party delights for sending the party supplies and to Paw Patrol Live for sending us tickets so she could see the show.

Yesterday we went on a Bear hunt,  we might have been just a little bit scared but we had lots of fun.  everything was set up whilst the children were at school, and they came home to discover a surprise waiting for them.  Popcorn, games to play and We're going on a Bear hunt DVD to watch.  My girls and their friends settled down to watch the DVD and eat popcorn!

I had also set up another table with fun activities to do after we had watched the DVD.

You can read our review of the DVD here but all our guests certainly enjoyed watching, we kept the DVD on look throughout the evening and even had the bear watching with us.

After watching the DVD we had a quiz to see what we could remember.  I loved this as my youngest is obsessed with peanut butter and so any answer she could think of that is what she would write.  She did her own sounding out too!

It was time to go on a real bear hunt!  First though we made some ears, before hunting for bears.  We all looked high and low and within 1 minute everything had been found.  I must learn to hide them better!

Having completed our bear hunt it was time to pin the tail on the bear.  I think there was some cheating happening as on quite a few occasions the tail ended up in the right place.  Everyone found this really funny so we played a few times.

It was time for food, we had played all our party games and were ready for something to eat.  As a treat for after dinner we made special bear biscuits.

Our bear party seemed to go past really quickly.  All our guests had an amazing fun time, and we loved watching the DVD together.

we were party hosts and received the items shown as part of the party.

We had been invited a few weeks ago to a Num Noms event with Bella Italia.  The date for the event was moved and fell on my daughters birthday.  I asked her what she wanted to do, if she wanted to stay with our original plans of having her friends to play for the day, or to go to the Num Noms event.  She chose to go to the event.

My eldest daughter was incredibly excited as I gathered her, her sister and three of their friends into the car.  I on the other hand was a little apprehensive of the prospect of looking after 6 children all day.  As it was her birthday I put all this to one side and braved the day.

The event was a perfect day for my eldest daughter, with face painting Num Noms style

Creating your own pizza and of course eating it for lunch.  Followed by a pink princess cake complete with crown!

Everyone joined in the celebrations and sang happy birthday to my daughter.  It really made her day and this was the first thing she told her Dad when he came home from work.  After cake there could only be one option, ice cream!  The huge selection seemed to have everyone mesmerised

Two hours seemed to simply fly past and it was not long before it was time to go home.  Unfortunately my youngest daughter was not too keen on this idea as she was having too much fun!

This day I love Double celebrations.
