This day I love.......

As winter sets in I am having to adapt my daughters school uniform.  I originally bought her lots of skirts and a pack of tights for school.  The problem is her eczema has taken a dislike to tights and my daughter is coming home covered in itchy rashes.  I could be a mean Mummy and send her to school in the cold with ankle socks and a skirt.   I have tried long socks but they do not stay up, so I am left looking for trousers.

I was a little worried with putting my daughter in trousers for school.  I thought that trousers would not have as much feminine detail as the skirts, but I was wrong.  The main problem I found was locating uniform, as most places no longer stock any or a great choice meaning I was left looking on line.

Trutex is available all the time, which is great as I can shop when the girls are in bed.  They had a beautiful selection of trousers too, not too masculine.  I also picked up some shirts, as for some reason her existing ones have pen all over them and a jumper.

The new uniform arrived and my first test was to wash and iron.  The uniform washed really well, no colour leak and nothing came apart.  Ironing was easy too, I think it must be an easy iron uniform.  My daughter is rather pleased with her new uniform and took great pride in showing it off

If like me your little one has messed up all their uniform or even had a growth spurt, then I would recommend buying your school uniform from Trutex.  Everything is of great quality and washes and irons beautifully,  Most of all my daughter thinks they are really comfortable.

We received one jumper, a pack of shirts and a pair of trousers for review.  All words are my own opinion.

I can't believe my eldest starts school in September.  She doesn't feel old enough, after all she is only three.  Whilst I have got used to seeing her in uniform with her attending preschool this somehow feels different and I want to give her the best start possible.  When Matalan gave me the news we were part of their school bloggers team, I was incredibly happy.  I could give my daughter good quality school uniform and I knew she would look smart.

When she put on her uniform, I have to admit to getting a little teary, my daughter is growing up so fast, where has the time gone?  She looked so grown up and was ever so pleased she simply beamed with pride.

Matalan school uniform offers the full range, winter and summer uniforms and everything from underwear to shirts and dresses.  Each item has some beautiful finishing touches and are all finished really well.  The quality looks great and we have had some questions as to where we have got our uniform from, with people surprised when we say Matalan.

There are some lovely finishing touches with the Matalan school uniform.  I love how the summer dresses come with hair accessories and how there is beautiful stitching on the skirts.  I have had no problems with washing or ironing the uniform and even labelling with her name has been made easy thanks to a special name label inside.

In order to really put the Matalan school uniform to the test, I let my daughter do what she does best and that is play!  She has played inside and out, got it covered in dirt, dinner and even grass and each time the uniform has stood the test and come out clean.  Just to see how easy it is to play in your Matalan school uniform here is my daughter demonstrating how much she loves her uniform

I would love to know if you have tried Matalan School uniform and what you think of them, please leave me a comment to let me know, Thank you.

I'm not going to lie, I am not the best at sewing. In fact last time I tried to sew a button back on to a top I stitched the top plus button to my trouser leg. I dread sewing labels on to my girls clothes. I have tried the iron on ones, but to be honest I'm just as bad with an iron and they tend to come off really quick. With my daughter in pre school I needed something that would not only work on her clothes but her bag, her shoes, and her water bottle.

Stamptastic really solved my problem. So far it has worked on everything I have tried.

Stamptastic

I thought about writing this review after I first used Stamptastic to label everything, as I was unbelievably impressed but then I thought I would wait a while, because what matters to me is how long the label lasts. It's great that its easy to apply, more of this to follow, but its no good if it was only to last one wash, for example, this however is not the case.

view through stamp

First application. The Stamptastic is an acrylic clear block. You are able to look through the block to clearly see the name which you are about to stamp. This means you can place the stamp exactly where you want it. Press the stamp firmly onto the ink pad to add ink and then stamp onto your chosen surface. Very quick, easy and simple to do. Labelling all those items of school uniform has never been so fast and so easy.

stamp on metal

I first tested the stamp on paper, no issues here, very easy to use and it lasts. Great for labelling things like books. I moved onto my daughters bag, which is a cotton/plastic type mix. One of those wipe clean kids bags. The stamp went on really well and very easy, no runs and no smudges. The same was true for her clothes, denim, cotton, the material type did not matter. Stamptastic managed them all. Final challenge for Stamptastic was my daughters cups, one plastic and one metal. Stamptastic did these with ease.

Stamp on paper

After 3 months of use I am pleased to say the following. The labels on the clothes are all still there and readable. If they were to fade I could simple re stamp over the top. As are the labels in my daughters shoes and bag. The label on my daughters plastic cup has started to fade though and I have had to re stamp, but this cup is washed every day. The label on the metal cup faded around 6 weeks, again this cup is also washed every day. With the Stamptastic so easy to use I do not mind stamping the items again. I have followed the storage instructions on the ink and am still able to use the same ink pad.

Overall I am so pleased with the Stamptastic. I have not yet found a surface I cannot stamp, it's a little tricky over curved surfaces but its still manageable. I am very impressed with how long the stamp lasts and how easy it is to re apply if needed. This product is amazing for making light work of labelling and is so easy to use.

I was sent two stamps, one for each girl to review, all thoughts are my own
