This day I love.......

The Christmas Experience is something we look forward to every year as a family. It has been part of our tradition of Christmas for quite some time now, all three children ask about it. The invite for the press day arrived and I think I might have been more excited than the kids, I could not wait to tell them.

We have visited Lotherton for many years for their Christmas experience and each year the experience seems to get better, building on previous years. The wishing tree which I think we experienced for the first time last year was slightly different and I think the elf who leads it really makes the experience here for you. Ours was fantastic and brought the excitement levels higher!

Onward we went to the Reindeer Emporium to make our food for the reindeer's on Christmas eve, before posting our letter to Santa at the Post office.

There was a small queue to wait for Santa but the elf in the waiting room did a great job of keeping everyone entertained.

Then it was finally our turn to walk through the magic gate to see the big man himself

I always like listening to the children when asked what they would like for Christmas, as what usually happens is some surprise that was not on the list appears. This year was no different and so now some emergency elf shopping is required.

After seeing Father Christmas we headed to the house to visit Mrs Claus. Here she was decorating gingerbread men with the children

I do love this activity and think it is done so well for the kids. Plus who doesn't love gingerbread!

We decided to stay in the house and have a look at the traditional Christmas decorations. We also played a game of how many Christmas trees we could find. I have a lot of photos of my children stood in front of different trees. All so beautifully decorated.

There was one final activity for us to do and that was elf crafts. My son painted a Santa Lantern and the girls made Christmas plates. I would recommend taking a bag with you if you do this as I had to carry three pieces of wet crafts round afterwards!

As is out tradition we always stop for a Hot Chocolate with all the trimmings before having a walk round the festive walk and fairy dell.

I could not think of a better way to get in to the spirit of Christmas. Thank you so much for inviting us!

In all honesty I have never given much thought into buying a pillow before. I usually just picked out whatever was on offer at my local supermarket. Never really thinking about the type of pillow or even how this would contribute to the quality of sleep. That was until recently when I injured my back and couldn't get comfortable on the pillow I had, as I had to change the way I was sleeping.

I began looking into the different types of pillows to find one to help with my injuries and give me a good nights sleep. This was when I discovered The Fine Bedding Company. The Fine Bedding Company are a fourth-generation UK-based company with their own 100% zero waste eco-factory. They put sustainability and comfort as a top priority.

The Fine Bedding Company website is really simple and easy to navigate with a wide choice of pillows to suit all budgets. There is a convenient filter to find your perfect pillow depending on your sleep position. After reading some of the recommendations for me I was kindly sent a Bronze Goose Down Surround Pillow to try.

Bronze Goose Down Surround Pillow was perfect for me with my injured back. The injury meant I found it most comfortable to sleep on my front. The Bronze Goose Down Surround Pillow has natural cushioning and support as well as feeling soft and luxurious. I found I could sleep comfortably with the injury thanks to the support from the pillow.

I like to think that due to finally being able to get a good night sleep my injury started to improve. I shall certainly be considering my choice of pillow more carefully in the future.

As regular followers will know I am a very active person. My day job however is very desk based and I often work very long hours. I am balancing not only work, but the needs of my children who all have very active social lives after school and my training schedule. More often than not the thing that has to give is my training. Some days it is just physically impossible to fit it in and others I am just simply too tired.

The Cycle desk from Flexispot is an incredibly convenient solution to fitting in exercise whilst working. A way for me to multi task whilst carrying out my day job. In fact whilst I type this blog post I am currently on the Flexispot.

The Flexispot comes in two boxes. One contains the main unit and the other the desk top. Setup is incredibly simple and can be done by one person in around 10 minutes. The instructions were simple to follow and I had to Flexispot assembled in no time at all. The Flexispot requires 2 AA batteries which are located under the cup holder.

There are multiple resistance levels to select. I usually use resistance 2 or 3, as I find it gives just enough resistance over the course of an hour whilst I type a report without it becoming too uncomfortable. There is a good range of the resistance. You can also use the button to scroll through different stats including time and distance.

Both the seat and desk can be adjusted in height using the handy levers located underneath them. The wrist support has good padding and support and the desk area has plenty of space to accommodate both a laptop and papers.

The cycle desk from Flexispot is comfortable to use and quiet too. I can work and be active at the same time which when you have a busy life with three children is such a great advantage.

The FlexiSpot Spring Sale currently has UP TO 30% OFF between 1st Mar. to 31st Mar.

The Flexispot cycle desk has been gifted in exchange for this review. All words are my own honest opinion.

This article has been written in partnership with Boots Photo. I have received items in exchange for this post. Words are my own honest opinions and thoughts.

I feel so incredibly lucky to have been brought up with some strong female figures. Up until recently I had two amazing Grandmas. Both very different but both equally as strong and independent. I learnt so much from them and I miss them both every day. My Mum is my hero. I wouldn't have the strength and courage to do half the things I do without her [and my Dad] behind me. She is my absolute rock.

I appreciate how lucky I am and have been to have these wonderful women in my life, and know that many others are not in the same fortunate position. Mothers Day is fast approaching. I take flowers to the graves of those who have been loved and lost. Here I sit and reflect on memories we shared together. For my Mum I like to give her photo gifts.

A photo for me invokes a memory, a story, a special time and place. Photos capture so much more than what you see. This is one of my favourite ever photos of my son

What you see is my son playing in a puddle. What you don't see is the story. I had taken my son and the dog for a walk. It was cold and drizzling. We were at the local park with a playground about 200m from where this photo was taken. This is was in the car park. I put the ticket on the car for 2 hours. We spent 2 hours in this puddle in the car park. He didn't want to get out of it, the dog had a great time chasing him in the puddle. I look at it and see the simple joy that one puddle can bring, and how sometimes the plans you make don't often work out but that's also ok.

I had the image turned into a foam board print, which I love more than a canvas as they are easier to hang and much lighter. The print now hangs in my hall along with a collection of other happy times with my children.

Photo gifts give so much more than the gift itself, they give a memory and a story. Photos can be printed on to all different kinds of gifts too from boxes of chocolates, to mugs and notebooks. They are more than just pieces of art for the wall. Every year I create a photo book of our favourite adventures together. My children love looking through the photo books of their first year, and of all our different adventures together. It brings back some wonderful memories and discussions and they make great gifts for Mums and those Mum figures in your life.

We were gifted free entry to Lap of Lights, I  have not been asked to write about our visit. All words are my own opinion.

I was incredibly excited to receive an email inviting my children and I to Silverstone and the lap of lights. It has been a dream of mine for many years to visit Silverstone and more so to drive on the track. The Friday before our visit we had very heavy snow and I was getting nervous we might not be able to make it. Luckily the snow held long enough, but it did take us an extra 2 hours to arrive.

We queued up on the grid line ready to start our lap and my middle child got comfy and ready to enjoy the lights. We tuned the radio into the lap of lights festive channel to get us into the festive spirit. The safety car complete with fairy lights was ready to lead us round the track and we were ready to go.

The kids began looking for Father Christmas in each of the different zones. They were treated to an extravaganza of lights and light shows. Each zone in the track had a different theme to it and in each area there was a Father Christmas hiding. There was lots of laughter and squeals of delight from the kids as we drove around the track

After our lap of lights we headed to the lodge to explore more of the indoor activities and to have some dinner.

We had a hot chocolate and something to eat before heading to the pit lane for ice skating.

The girls grew in confidence the longer we stayed on the ice, little man enjoyed using the penguin support. It was such great fun skating through the garages and round the pit lane, we even spotted a car or two!

After ice skating we headed back into the lodge. The kids were too young to have a go at axe throwing but old enough to try curling.

After several hours at Silverstone it was time to brave the snow and head back home. We had had an amazing evening, the kids all tired from the various activities and I was buzzing from the experience of driving at Silverstone.
