My eldest currently thinks 5am is a great time to start the day and my youngest thinks 1am is a great time to go to bed. 4 hours sleep maximum is slowly taking its toll. I had a lovely day planned today but unfortunately the weather decided otherwise. We had been forecast 10cm of snow but I think we probably got about 1/2 cm. With our early morning start we were able to get out early and attempt to build a snowman, unfortunately there was not quite enough snow so we improvised
Curiosity then got the better of my eldest and she decided to eat snow
Before wandering off to bounce on the trampoline
My youngest was tired and wanted cuddles, I did not mind
We headed back inside to get warm and my youngest had a sleep. My eldest wanted to finish her Easter cards so we stuck on a pom pom for the rabbits nose, and pieces of coloured thread to make the whiskers
I love our Easter cards, I would have used bigger eyes but I only had small ones left. My eldest wanted to do more painting so we started our secret craft project [fingers crossed it goes to plan] and then baked a cake
I love the look of concentration on my daughters face as she cracks the egg. My youngest helped by eating the cake once it had cooked
You would think after waking up at 5am followed by playing in the snow, crafting and baking that they would be tired, but no my eldest wanted to do more baking. So we made some food for the birds.
First we melted a block of lard in a pan
Next we mixed in bird seeds
Added some string to our shape moulds, we went for butterfly shapes
Before finally adding the mixture to the moulds and placing in the fridge overnight to set
In the morning we will hang our bird food out. After all the activities today I was tired and ready for a sit down, it was only 3pm by this point, so we sat on the sofa and watched Toy story before I had to go and cook the girls dinner. I am hoping its not another 5 am start tomorrow.
This day I love Mr snow head.

Deletelove the snowman, its bigger than anything we have managed this year, we just have not had lying snow on the ground all winter. roads 20 miles east of me are shut with snow, roads 20 miles south are shut, road 10miles north is passable with care and we have nothing.
