This day I love.......

The break in the rain made for the perfect opportunity to get out and explore, it also gave us the perfect excuse to hunt for muddy puddles.  My youngest and I set off to explore local woodland to see what we could find.

Sitting in the woods

It wasn't long before we found what we had come for, muddy puddles.  The rain from the past few days had made lots of muddy puddles which made my youngest very happy.  She wasted no time in jumping and stomping through the puddles.

Jumping in muddy puddles

My youngest would have spent all day jumping in those muddy puddles and it was so lovely watching the enjoyment on her face.  The dogs too also had a wonderful day, J got to dig holes and Spotty dog just enjoyed herself [can you spot her?]

Both of my girls love mud.  My youngest has to splash in every puddle she walks past.  She runs at them shouting 'cuddles' 'cuddles'.  If you try to say puddles she says no, cuddles.  Which made we wonder why.  I thought at first it might be she is mishearing me or perhaps pronouncing incorrectly, she is only 2 after all.  I then realised it is because every time we go out she falls in them

Which leads to muddy cuddles

So perhaps she isn't mishearing or pronouncing incorrectly after all, because to her a muddy puddle usually means she gets a muddy cuddle

The girls love exploring and the outdoors.  The paths nearby are just about passable now the ice has melted.  I took the girls out for some fresh air and a chance to explore.

The girls could not resist the temptation that is a muddy puddle and had great fun breaking the ice on top to splash in the mud

Although some of the puddles ended up being very deep.

We started by walking around a local country park but it got very busy, so we took the opportunity to explore further afield.  The girls loved running free through open fields and climbing up grass banks.  They found some great places to relax too

We even managed a sit down and cuddle together

The setting sun could only mean one thing, it was time to begin the walk home

It was a really lovely day and nice to be able to explore.

This day I love icy muddy walks.
