This day I love.......

The plan for today was to run the 5K parkrun, however thing 3 is having other ideas.  I had to have an emergency appointment last week with the midwife as Thing 3 seems to be playing havoc with my muscles.  I have been referred to physio and due to the problems have an appointment in a weeks time.  No lifting and been advised to take it as easy as possible until my physio appointment.  Not to worry because I love my parkrun family and am always more than happy to volunteer.  Today's job, time keeper.

Celebrating Halloween in true style, the course was decorated and runners and volunteers could also come dressed up,  My youngest took this as the perfect excuse to come with me to running.  She was given the important job of cheering, waving and ensuring the finish tokens end up in the bucket at the end.

My eldest also came with me dressed as a witch, only thanks to a friend of ours she ran the course and seemed to be enjoying every part of it.

My eldest got a PB today and has asked to go again next week.  After a fantastic start to the day there could only be one way to end it, Trick or Treating.

Happy Halloween from all of us and that includes Thing 3!

This Day I love Happy Halloween

Sunday

girls after junior park runThe girls are taking more of an interest in Mummy running.  I like to encourage this as I think it is great for kids to be involved in physical activities and to be active.  I found a local running event for children and we took the girls on Sunday morning.  They both loved it and have asked to go again

Monday

Walk in the eveningI accidentally broke my blog.  Which resulted in the rest of the week all spare time going into trying to fix it, which fingers crossed it appears to be.  After school I took my eldest for a walk, we both needed some fresh air.  We went in search of some muddy puddles and it was nice to spend some time with her

Tuesday

crating with carpet rightI attended a really great blogging event with Carpet right.  We were challenged to craft with carpet.  It was great to see all the creative ideas the other bloggers came up with and to put my creative mind to the test.

Wednesday

Girls cuddled upI caught the girls having a little cuddle whilst watching a film.  It is lovely to see the two of them cuddled together.

Thursday

snow dropsI finally found some snow drops!

Friday

pomegranate chickenNot the best picture in the world, but I was experimenting with food and in particular pomegranate.  I made a pomegranate marinade to use over the chicken and it was really tasty.

Saturday

Valentines Park runI started off Valentines morning on a Park run.  The course was lined with heart balloons and many of the runners were in fancy dress.  I got another PB and finally managed a 5K in under 30 minutes!

I completed my 3rd Park run this Saturday, I think it is become addictive!  The running bug is certainly going through our house.  The girls ask every Saturday if they can come running with me, and every time I put on my gear they ask to come.

After some searching I discovered a Junior Park run close to us.  The junior park run is similar to the adult, it is a shorter route of 2K and is for 4-14 year olds.  The run starts at 9am, so I got the girls up early and got them ready.  They were very excited and so pleased to be running with Mummy.

Both girls completed the 2K course.  Although my youngest was carried by Daddy for some of it.  As my eldest was registered she got a finishing time of 15:06 which I think for a 4 year old is very quick.

After our run we took the dogs out for a walk.  I think my girls have a mud magnet because they found the biggest mud pit they could and spent ages playing.

This weekend has gone far too fast.

This day I love Over in a flash
