This day I love.......

The Cybex cloud q infant car seat is a group 0+ car seat and has a RRP of £220. It is available as either belted or base. The base can be attached either via isofix or via three point seat belt. I particularly like this as a belted base can then be used in the middle seat and the functionally of isofix becomes available.  This is a group 0+ infant carrier, however Cybex also do the Sirona which is a 0+/1 seat and allows rear facing to 4 years. [RRP £375]

The first thing to note with any car seat is that to ensure it is appropriate for your car. Each car seat comes with an approved car list and the Cloud Q is no exception to this. The Cloud Q was approved for use in my car and I was also able to use the base on the Middle seat with the seat belt.

Installation was really easy with the base. I managed it whilst holding little man as he did not want to be put down. The isofix bars are easily located underneath the base and can be stored there if using a belted fitting as I did. The support leg is simple to extended using a squeezing method and fits snug on the floor. I particularly like the handy guides in the seat to show you not only the direction to install, rear facing, but also to help you get the seat level. This is a really great visual guide to ensure the seat is installed correctly.

The handle for the seat can be in various positions outside the car, but needs to be in a downward position in the car. It is worth checking this as all seats are different and some require the handle to be in an up positions. Little man is kept well supported within the seat and seems to have plenty of padding around him.

The head rest is easy to extend out the back with a simple pull or push and this also moves the harness. This is great because there is no re threading of the harness as your child grows.

The harness does twist quite easily and it is worth checking that it is untwisted when fastening your child in the seat. A three point harness is easily adjusted using a simple push button at the base of the seat near the child's feet. A quick release red button to undo the harness is also easy to locate.

The cloud q is rather clever in that out of the car it has a true lie flat recline. Whilst I am a firm believer that a car seat should always stay in the car this functionality is great should an emergency arise and you needed to use the car seat outside the car. It is a true lie flat and not on an angle which is perfect for babies alignment and breathing.

The hood on the cloud a easily retracts and when fully extended provides ample shade. It has a great modern look and feel to it.

Overall the cloud q is quick and easy to install with a variety of installing options. It grows with your child and there is no need to re thread the harness as it is all done automatically. My only niggle is the harness does twist easily. It has a true lie flat function and looks modern and stylish.   The cloud Q is a welcome addition to the Cybex range which also includes the Solution Q2 fix.  [RRP £190]

The Cloud Q was sent for review, all words are my own opinion.

Little man and I had our very own adventure today, we came to London. Yes I did a 2 hour train journey on my own with the little one. Lucky for me the train staff were absolutely amazing and showed some fantastic customer service. We arrived in London and our adventure began. First the tube!
The underground is a rather interesting experience with a pushchair. Lifts seem to be hidden in the darkest depths of corridors but none the less we managed it. Little man was mesmerised by the lights and sounds and the whooshing noises soon sent him to sleep.

We called in to see a wonderful PR company who showed us some of their clients and their fantastic ranges. We are slowly getting into holiday mode, with out first holiday coming up soon and so brands such as Teva who make some beautiful sandals were high on my radar. I was impressed with the ranges from Samsonite and American Tourister, having seen the press releases I was keen to see in real life.

The Star Wars suit cases caught my attention and I will admit to trying to sneak it out.

I think the girls however would love these from the original muck boot company. Perfect for muddy walks!

Little man then got to test out some of the Joolz pushchair range

He looked incredibly happy in them

We were sad to leave such a welcoming and friendly team but had another exciting appointment to attend. We once again braved the tube but this time learnt the hard way that not all tubes are pushchair friendly, so had to make a detour back to one that was and a lovely 20minute walk through London. The sun was shining and it was a glorious day, lucky as I had lost the rain cover for the pushchair!

Our next destination was Harrods and little man was once again taken in by all the wonderful shiny lights, particularly in the lift.

After a quick feed it was time to meet with the Cybex team for their UK launch of the Priam by Jeremy Scott. I had seen the press release of this but they do nothing compared to the flesh. The luxurious black sets off the gold angel wings. Designer bags, car seats and accessories to go with the new look Priam. Little man certainly seemed to have fun testing it out.

The functionality of the Priam has not changed it simply has had a very designer, very fresh and fashionable upgrade. The Priam will be exclusive to Harrods for a period of time before rolling out to a select few retailers.

After lunch at the Bulgari hotel and a chat with some lovely people we headed out for our final adventure. This time braving a taxi and a quick journey to the Mothercare AW preview.

Little man picked this moment to have a nap so I took a good look at the toys from Early learning and spotted a few Christmas present ideas

As well as some Christmas pieces

The new Peter rabbit range really caught my eye, with soft delicate neutral tones it would make an ideal gift for s new baby.

Of course my eye was naturally drawn to the superhero collection and with bright funky patterns and slogans I wanted to take it all home

I also spotted little mans Halloween outfit

Mothercare also seem to be about making bold statements be it with the bright colours and patterns from Little bird by Jools or the black and white from Myleene Klass

I was really impressed by the individuality of each range whilst maintaining this bold pattern theme throughout. My favourite range however was Smile, because each piece did just that!

Time seemed to fly and we had to rush to get back to the train, with only 2 minutes to spare! Little man and I had a fabulous day in London and would like to say thank you to everyone who invited us.

This day I love little man and his big adventure.

Sunday

My youngest has out grown her toddler bed and so we built her a new single bed today.  This of course also meant we went shopping for bedding for her.  She loves her new bed and spent a while at bedtime looking at everything and taking it all in

Monday

A trip to the vets for spotty dog for another check up, one more check up to go.  I was going to pick a picture showing our day but this one made me giggle.  The girls like to borrow my phone and I keep finding random photos on it, this is one of them.

Tuesday

My youngest and I had a trip into London for the preview of the Cybex Premium range.  She was really well behaved on the train and loved looking at the new collection with me.  She even took the new Pushchairs for a test drive.

Wednesday

It was a rather busy day today.  I started with a bad cold and had little energy.  My youngest wanted to do some painting so I improvised with Mess free painting.  She had loads of fun and it kept her busy for ages

Thursday

Snow day.

Friday

My eldest is wanting to help more and she loves to help in the kitchen

Saturday

I am still full of cold and decided that a run might help me get better.  I hadn't been able to run all week, as I have felt really ill so I needed the fresh air and exercise.  Not sure it was a good idea afterwards but at least I got out and did something

Having an invite to attend the launch of a new Car seat and pushchair range is very exciting to me.  I love discovering new brands and also to have a sneak peak of new products.  I have a particular passion for car seats and had seen Cybex online but never up close.

The first thing that impressed me about the Cybex car seat range, was the thought over making things simpler.  By making car seats easier to use you reduce human error.  Reducing human error means the car seats are used more as they were intended and therefore will perform as designed.  Having harness twisted, or head rests at an incorrect height all have an impact on the performance of the seat.

The Cybex Platinum range had 4 seats on display.  The Aton Q is not pictured below.  The cloud Q is a 0+ car seat which has some amazing features.  The hood is extra large, providing great protection from the sun and is UVP50+ giving peace of mind.  The 11 position height adjustable head rest simultaneously adjusts the harness length and seating angle, reducing human error in harness and seat.  What is most impressive is the ability to make the cloud Q lie flat.  Using one hand the Cloud Q car seat is transformed into a carry cot for use on the travel system.

The Sirona is a Group 0+/1 car seat and can be used both rear and forward facing.  I loved the design of this.  The swivel giving an easy way to put your child into the car seat and then can easily be adjusted to be either forward or rear facing.  There is a one handed recline system, 11 position height adjustable head rest and not to mention a whole host of safety features.

The Solution Q2-fix was the final car seat on show.  This is a high back chair with a very clever award winning head rest. The head rest prevents the head slump often seen on other seats when a child falls asleep in the car.  I was impressed at how when the height of the seat increased, so did the width.  Meaning even children older in range still had a comfy ride.  My daughter was so impressed she kept trying to climb in it.

As well as the car seats we also got to have a look and a play with the Priam.  This is suitable for 6months to 17Kg.  There are 10 great reasons why I loved the Priam:

1. There is a ski attachment.  You can replace the front wheels with ski, making it easy to use over snow
2. The seat is at table height, meaning it can be used at most restaurants with ease.
3. There is a two wheel mode making hurdles such as steps easier to overcome
4. Easy recline function
5. Rotatable seat unit
6. Easy to fold and carry
7. It is a complete travel system
8. Choice of wheels dependant on your terrain
9.Height adjustable handle bar
10. Extra large and expandable shopping basket

testing out the PriamCybex Priam

If all that isn't enough it easily accommodated my 2 year old [who is tall for her age], she also found it easy to push the light weight aluminium frame.  Even better still there is almost every combination of colours you can think of to choose from, something for every taste.

I would love to put the car seats and the Priam through their paces in a real life situation to see how they perform.  They certainly looked very impressive

This day I love a premium sneak peak

Although invited to the invite, I covered my own travel costs, and have not been asked to write about the launch,
