This day I love.......

With school finished for Christmas a treat was in order.  Wrapping up warm we headed over to Brodsworth Hall for some festive fun and a late night treat.  Last year the girls sat and watched Father Christmas read them stories and this year they were doing the same, only with some added extras.

The main hall at Brodsworth is currently undergoing renovations, so tales with Father Christmas could not take place here.  Instead we went on a wonderful enchanted walk around the gardens.  The gardens and hall lit up in the dark with a wide variety of colours.

Disco lights hung from trees creating sparkles across the woodland floor.

Beams of light shone through the tall, dark trees.

We walked through different colours of light, listening to the different festive sounds as we passed until in front of us was a giant igloo.  We walked inside and took a seat, eager to see who or what would appear.  Then with a jingle of bells and a 'Ho, Ho, Ho' Father Christmas entered and sat down to tell us all a story.

The girls all sat captivated by the tale from Father Christmas.  They were told a wonderful story, one I had not heard before and once it had finished they even got to meet him.

The girls left the giant igloo in the gardens with huge smiles on their faces.  Each asked to go and visit Father Christmas again.  As much as I would have loved to go back and see Father Christmas again it was starting to get late, so instead we had a Hot chocolate before heading back home.

A wonderful treat and a great way to start the school holidays!

This day I love an evening treat

Brodsworth Hall invited us to attend.  All words are my own opinion.

Sunday

beautiful muddy faceMy youngest is rather accident prone.  We had taken a walk round the country park with the dogs, my youngest tripped over her own feet and fell face first into the first muddy puddle.  She was covered in mud.  We had a cuddle and a giggle and she soon ran off playing again.

Monday

testing body washMy eldest is trying some new wash for her eczema and after swimming seemed a great time to give it a go

Tuesday

admiring the viewI needed to clear my head and get some thinking space.  I took the dogs on a walk and it was just lovely to admire the views.

Wednesday

Soft play rope bridgeI needed to make it up to the girls after such a rubbish week so far.  I took my youngest to do something she would love, soft play.  It was actually really therapeutic and lovely to hear her giggling and having fun.  This photo reminds me of a silent Sunday from back in October 2013

Thursday

Late night in the carIt was another really busy day today.  I had meetings with clients all day which all ran over.  Really good meetings and fingers crossed they both happen as it would be amazing.  As a result the only picture I managed was of my eldest in the car as we went to pick up her sister from nursery

OK I know its a rather interesting title, but its true.  Normally my girls are not allowed to have balls, either in the house or outside because our dog has a fascination with eating them.  I have lost count on the amount he has destroyed over the years and the speed at which he can turn a football into dust is unbelievable.  I love watching my girls play with them and at their Grandparents house they love to play with football and throwing and catching.

My youngest now has a new word and that's 'ball'.  So when she started asking me for a ball it was off to the shops to pick one up.  I was not too sure how long it would last but thought I would give it a go.  Surprisingly our dog is currently in a good mood and listening when I tell him to leave the balls alone.  As a result the girls have had a rather fun evening kicking balls around and playing catch.  I am so impressed that my eldest can catch.

The last picture is just to prove our dog was there.

This day I love balls.
