This day I love.......

The weeks seem to be flying past!

I have been trying to get out and about more these past few weeks and try to return things back to normal for the girls.  The first of this was to do the school run.

It was hard work for me at first but I am now able to walk the journey into school.  After Easter I am hoping to be able to do both the drop off in the morning and the pick up.

Baby has started to become a little unsettled at night, particularly between 1am and 6am.  They seem to be suffering with trapped wind.  It would appear that the best way to help with the pain this causes is skin to skin, and I am not in anyway complaining by this.

Of course all this night time wakening has meant a lot of tired mornings.  We spend our mornings asleep before my youngest comes home from school.

My sister came home this week, and she finally got to meet baby.

Baby also got weighed this week and is down to just under 7lbs.

All through my pregnancy I was told baby would be big and so we cannot believe how small Baby is.  In fact about the size of a chocolate bar.

Baby also seems to have taken a liking to be curled up and over a shoulder.  Much preferring to be curled than laid down.  Any excuse for squidgy cuddles.

The girls absolutely adore their baby and take any opportunity to help or hold.  My eldest loves to help fed baby and is really protective.

We had been washing baby with cotton wool and water, instead of bathing but decided this week to do the first proper bath.  It did not go down well.

My youngest has been poorly this week, which has also meant a very snuffly baby.  Although my youngest does seem to pick up with medicine.

One of my favourite parts of this week was our newborn photography shoot with Vanessa White Photography.   She was absolutely fantastic with Baby, and took her time in photographing.  There are some absolutely stunning photos but this one is my favourite.

These past few days Baby has also started to be become a lot more alert and opening their eyes for much longer periods.  Although this does seem to be more in the early hours of the morning.

Baby has now been registered at the town hall and the library.  They attended their first birthday party and came with me to my physio appointment.  The midwife discharged us and so we are now in the care of the health visitor.

The health visitor weighed baby again and this time was 7lb4, so are slowly regaining their birth weight.

The weekend saw us make our first big outing and we visited the Sealife centre in Manchester.  Baby was fascinated by all the fish and the lights.

I am starting to notice changes, the hands no longer seem to be in a fist as often as they were.  Babies face is slowly changing and I think the skinny legs are slowly filling out.

Baby seems to be happy and content, and is now beginning to take notice to their surroundings.

It is now Easter holidays for the girls and we are trying to get out as much as possible as a family.  Baby is responding to the sounds of their sisters voices and enjoys listening to them to talk.

I cannot quite believe that this little baby is almost a month old!

Sunday

beautiful muddy faceMy youngest is rather accident prone.  We had taken a walk round the country park with the dogs, my youngest tripped over her own feet and fell face first into the first muddy puddle.  She was covered in mud.  We had a cuddle and a giggle and she soon ran off playing again.

Monday

testing body washMy eldest is trying some new wash for her eczema and after swimming seemed a great time to give it a go

Tuesday

admiring the viewI needed to clear my head and get some thinking space.  I took the dogs on a walk and it was just lovely to admire the views.

Wednesday

Soft play rope bridgeI needed to make it up to the girls after such a rubbish week so far.  I took my youngest to do something she would love, soft play.  It was actually really therapeutic and lovely to hear her giggling and having fun.  This photo reminds me of a silent Sunday from back in October 2013

Thursday

Late night in the carIt was another really busy day today.  I had meetings with clients all day which all ran over.  Really good meetings and fingers crossed they both happen as it would be amazing.  As a result the only picture I managed was of my eldest in the car as we went to pick up her sister from nursery

Not the best start to the 2014 Project 365.  I am already late on the first weeks.  Hopefully this round up will explain why

Week 2

out for winter walkhotel viewlooking at you

We took a lovely winter walk to get some fresh air.  My eldest loves exploring all the muddy paths and my youngest always has a good nap when we are out.  The girls and I were taking pictures with the wooden play camera.  I liked the pattern through the play lens and decided to take a picture with my camera through the lens, I thought it was a good image.  I had to go away again for work, what a view from the hotel room.

parking chargesconference

Ok so I didn't take this photo but it is my favourite from the day.  Works conference was a lot of fun, although the car parking charges were not so much fun!

eating dinnerfast asleep

By the time I had got home from work the girls were asleep, it was very late.  I took the girls out for dinner after swimming on the Saturday.  My eldest really loved my curry!

Week 3

full of coldsunday lunchsleep

We went out for Sunday lunch, and I could not believe the size of the children's portions.  Neither girl ate very much and neither did I, we were all feeling under the weather.  Monday the dreaded cold struck.  The girls and I spent the day in bed, thankfully my Mum came to help.  The virus stayed put all week and we spent the week in bed.

sisters holding handswatching filmscheeky face

The girls felt better on Wednesday, although I still felt rough.  We watched rather a lot of DVDs but that also meant we had lots of cuddles.  I lost my voice on Thursday and the girls took full advantage, yes that is a cheeky face.  I managed to drive for the first time during the week and picked the girls up from nursery.  I loved it when we got home and turned round to see them holding hands.

shopping

I got rather annoyed with the supermarket only having trolleys with single seats, this meant my eldest had to sit in the trolley with the shopping.  She did not seem to mind and kept putting the shopping round her and building a den.

Week 4

jumping in mudplaying in boxesindoor picnic

I was starting to feel a little crazy sat in the house so decided to get some fresh air with the girls.  My eldest had lots of fun jumping in the muddy puddles.  Watching her play really cheered me up and made me feel better.  The girls had an in door picnic after nursery on Monday and spent Tuesday evening playing in a large card board box!

playing nicethe doglook at those eyes

I figured I should probably take a picture of the dog.  This was the look of my youngest in her I 'don't want to go to nursery'.  The girls spent some time playing together which is always lovely to watch.

bird watching

We took part in the RSPB bird watch survey and my eldest took great pride in marking off the birds as we saw them.

Week 3 saw me catch the girls cold, so 3 full of cold on week 3! At one point in the week I lost the ability to use my eyes, which made for rather a painful and scary time, thankfully though the girls seem better and I feel as if I am coming back to normality.  A week of snow fun, both indoor and out and a week of my youngest trying to escape from everything.
