This day I love.......

The girls love playing with Num Noms, and loved opening up the new smells in series too.

Inspired by the new flavours and in particular the 'Freezie Pops' range we headed in to the kitchen.  The girls soon began matching the Num Noms to ingredients in the kitchen.

They put on their chef hat and told me they were going to make their very own Freezie pops inspired by the new Num Noms flavours.

Keep an eye out on my YouTube channel as the girls will be talking you through how they made their Num Noms freezie Pops!

The girls both had lots of fun creating their Freezie pops inspired by the new Num Noms flavours, what would you create?

The girls received some Num Noms for this post, all words are my own opinion.

The rain came pouring down and we could not go outside to play.  The girls did not want  to go out and play, they wanted something fun to do.  Something a little different.  What they really wanted was Cat in the Hat to inject some fun, so we injected our own.

We took our white Cardboard playhouse from cardboard toys, our blank canvas and let imaginations go wild.  The girls were given paint, leaves, stencils and the craft box, the rest was up to their imagination.

The girls began by holding a planning meeting inside their house.  They decided what to do and what they would need.  Spotty dog decided to keep guard.

The girls began by decorating the inside of the house.  They drew lights on the ceiling, a kitchen and bathroom and of course all the other essentials bedroom and their toys.  The dogs watched on with interest.

After they had finished decorating the inside they played inside the house and admired their work.

Spotty dog seemed very impressed with the interior.

I was incredibly impressed with what they had drawn, my favourite parts are the lights on the ceiling and the cat in the Hat made an appearance too!

With the inside complete it was now time to start working on the outside.  They cut, stuck, glued, painted and created.  Busy chatting away and making things.  Using objects to dip in paint and act as stencils.  Discovering shapes and patterns, mixing colours to make new colours

Day 1 was drawing to a close, they had worked really hard on their house all day but it was now time for bed.

They made smoke clouds for the chimney, a bird in a nest to sit on the roof [Mummy had to help stick him on the roof] and a flag.  What house doesn't have a flag!

They stuck solar panels on the front of their house and trees down the side

Even making some pipe cleaner snails for the front of the house.

It was still raining on Sunday so the girls began painting again.  Finishing off their hard work they had started the day before.  Stamping butterflies, bees and ladybirds on the sides near their trees.

Using their hands they created roof tiles on the side of without solar panels.  By the sides of the door they created some red flowers.  There was one final task and that was to paint the doors.

After two days of hard work the girls wrote 'Our House' above the doors and had created their dream home.  It had everything that their imaginations could think of from flowers, birds and creativity.

A wonderful way to spend a rainy weekend and the girls have a dream house they can play with for many more adventures.

This day I love Rainy day house building

The best way to feel better and to cheer yourself up has to be with chocolate. What better way than to play with chocolate and to create your very own Easter eggs. The girls were delighted with their gift from Stay in Cornwall to make their very own Easter eggs.

chocolate egg kit

The kits contained everything we needed, chocolate to melt, sweets to decorate, egg moulds and of course chef hats. The girls wasted no time in getting their hats on and greasing the egg moulds ready for the melted chocolate. The girls did really well pouring the chocolate and not eating it all, it was very tempting. They made swirly patterns and loved pouring the chocolate into the moulds.

making chocolate eggs

We left the chocolate to set so we could decorate it with the sweets later. It didn't take long and soon the girls could stick their sweets onto the eggs to make a funny face. The girls had lots of fun making their chocolate eggs and it was great fun, it certainly helped the girls feel much better after being ill for so long.

pouring in the chocolate

After making our chocolate eggs I needed a much deserved rest as standing was beginning to take its toll and I still was not feeling too well. We all had a cuddle in the sofa and the girls ate their chocolate eggs. The only thing that could have made us feel even better would have been to have been sat in the sunshine in one of our favourite places, Cornwall. Hopefully soon. In the meantime chocolate really does appear to have been the best medicine.

This day I love Chocolate is the best medicine

Yesterday evening we hosted a twitter party.  The girls and I really enjoy the twitter parties, it is a chance for the girls to have their friends over to play and for dinner.  The twitter party yesterday was for Disney Juniors Doc McStuffins.  The girls were very excited as this is one of their favourite shows.

The girls were super excited when they saw inside our party box and could not wait for the party to start.  The Doc McStuffins party introduced everyone to eye tests and the dentist.

Doc McStuffins eye test

The twitter party had everything.  The first game was similar to pass the parcel, but featured dress up.  All our guests like dress up and to dress up in Doc McStuffins scrubs with pink shoes was certainly very appealing to our guests.

After dressing up the eye tests began and of course for an eye test you need sunglasses.

Pink Dr Scrubs and sun glasses

One of the favourite parts of any party is the cake, and the Doc McStuffins party was no different.

Dressing up and cake, the only way to follow this up was with colouring and craft activity.  The girls got to make their very own eye chart.  My youngest was so pleased that she got to do some cutting and sticking.

The girls and their friends got to play with lots of Doc McStuffins toys.  This is always popular and it is great watching them all play together.  Smyths Toys were also involved with the twitter party and they gave away £100 voucher to spend in store during the party.  I would buy more Doc McStuffins flashing shoes if I had won it, have a look on my instagram for the video.

After all the excitement of flashing shoes, cake, dressing up and crafting it was time to wind down with a game of tick tack toe, Doc McStuffins style.

concentrating playing games

We had a great time and hope you joined us for the Doc Mcstuffins twitter party.  I would like to say a big thank you to , Disney Junior, Ukmums.tv and Smyths toys.  Look forward to the next one.

This year the girls have decided to write their very first letter to Father Christmas.  We began by cutting out things from magazines which both girls wanted for Christmas.

making a letter to Father Christmas

The girls loved cutting and sticking.  They turned over each page and spent a while looking at all the toys, choosing what they would like.  After they had finished cutting and sticking it was time for my eldest to write her letter.  She took great pride in thinking about the words and what she wanted to write, sounding them out and asking me for help.

 Letter to Father Christmas

She has written:

To Santa

We have been good girls.  Please bring us some toys. Love [followed by their names] xxxxxxx

After she wrote the letter she then wrote the envelope

Santa, North Pole, Lapland

envelope to Father Christmas

We placed everything inside the envelope and tomorrow on our way to school we will post the letter to Father Christmas.

The girls loved writing their letter to Father Christmas and I cannot wait to see their faces when they get a reply!

This day I love Good Girls

It was a rather wet weekend this week.  Lots of thunder storms and showers.  The girls are not ones for sitting still and were desperate to go outside.  The rain did give us the opportunity to get crafty and do some baking, but the girls love the outdoors and so every opportunity we took and got outside.

The great thing about rain is that it makes puddles and mud.  My girls love nothing more than splashing in puddles or squelching in mud.  I secretly love it too.  It is a great way to encourage them to play outside and get active by going on a walk to find muddy puddles.

We always manage to get out and get active no matter what the weather, we just make sure we wear appropriate clothes.  Although playing in the sunshine is much better.  On our exploration walk to find our mud we came across some beautiful horses, one came right up to say hello

I think it was secretly glad for some company.  The girls did manage to find their mud and some puddles, its funny how they always can.  Lucky for us the sunshine stayed out long enough for us to have a lovely walk together.

This day I love when the sun comes out again
