This day I love.......

I have a huge sweet tooth, I think everyone knows that by now. One thing I cannot resist is sweets, in particular marshmallows. At our wedding day our centre pieces were jars filled with marshmallows for our guests to enjoy. I therefore know my marshmallows, or so I thought.

At Britmums live this year I met a company who make personalised marshmallows, boomf. In fact their original idea was to print your Instagram images onto marshmallows. They have since extended this so you can upload images or use Facebook photos too.

I really loved this idea. Imagine how great it would have been at our wedding to have had personalised marshmallows. It would have made great favours and a much better centre piece. I decided to give boomf a try.

My preferred choice of web browser is chrome and for some reason I was unable to select my images but when I switched to Internet explorer I had no problems. After this switch I selected images from my Instagram account and arranged them onto boomf. The site gave me advice onto the best photos to choose, those that were not too dark.  I found the site really easy to use and other than the issue with chrome has no further issues placing my order.

Boomf is delivered worldwide for free and mine arrived within a few days.  Boomf is designed to fit through the letter box so there is no need to wait in for it to be delivered.  I opened the box and was really pleased with what I saw.

The images were great and of a good quality.  I loved how they looked and thought that it would make a fantastic gift.  Although they looked fantastic the proof is obviously in how they taste.  The girls could not wait to get stuck in

They tasted great.  My youngest quickly showed one straight in her mouth so she could have another, and my eldest kept asking for more.  She did point out that it had her photo on so therefore it was hers.  It was difficult to argue with that logic.  I did manage to sneak one past her though, I loved them so much I am wanting to order another box.  They are vanilla flavour but not too sweet and are flavoured just right.  Great texture and they seem to melt in your mouth.

If you would love to create your own box of boomf why not enter my competition below.  Entry is open to UK residents aged 18 and over only.  Giveaway ends Wednesday 8th October at midnight.  For full t&c see Rafflecopter

I won't deny it, I love cake.  Anything sweet and I need to eat it! My girls I think have developed my sweet tooth too.  When Baker Days approached me to review one of their cakes, I could not refuse.  I went on line to pick my letter box cake, from the huge selection available.

I had a real tough choice choosing a cake, did I want personalised or not?  What flavour cake would I like?  I love all cake this was very tough, but settled on carrot cake.  I selected a butterfly deign and sat back and waited for my cake to arrive.

The cake came in a beautiful metal tin when I opened the lid I was greeted with instructions on how to get my cake out of the tin.  This was important to me as the cake smelled fantastic and both girls were asking for a piece.

The cake slid out of the tin beautifully and the design on the cake was more beautiful than in the photo

I cut into the cake and it was a lovely texture, really easy to cut.  The cake almost had a bounce to it.

So far the cake, look good, smelt amazing and was a real dream to cut.  It felt lovely and light.  There was nothing left but to try the cake, my favourite part!

I am not sure there are words to describe how amazing the cake tasted.  For carrot cake the balance was spot on.   Not too overpowering and really did just melt in your mouth.  So much so I have had to order another cake.  I was really impressed as the cake fitted in the letter box and tastes yummy.  The cake was so good that once it had all gone I ended up with this face

Sad face

I think that would be a face of huge disappointment that it had all gone, but she did really enjoyed the cake.  I have never known either of them eat Carrot cake but they both loved it leaving nothing behind.

I will be ordering more cakes from Baker days, as I think they are perfect for gifts and also if having a small party.  It is great that the box is designed to fit through the post box,  There is a wide selection of designs to choose from, I had such a difficult choice choosing.  I am looking forward to my next one arriving!

My youngest had a lie in this morning, which would have been great but my oldest was up at 4 am.  I decided to make the most of only having one up that early and sat in bed cuddling my eldest.  She then asked 'Mummy what are you doing'  I explained I was resting as I needed my energy for playing in the day.  She said ok and then got me the phone charger.  I asked her why she had brought me the phone charger and she rather calmly said ' No Mummy, its charge up Mummy Batteries for playing'. I had to laugh and give her a big cuddle.

We moved into our house earlier this year and one of the things I love so much about it is the outside space.  It backs onto trees and our neighbours either side each have a lovely Oak tree in their gardens.  Today one of the Oaks was due its dead wood removing and general tidy up.  When we went to get dressed upstairs my daughter could see through her bedroom a man in the tree which prompted the following questions:

'Why is there a man in the tree?'
'Why do we cut the tree?'
'Is the tree poorly?' [I think this is because I said he was cutting it]
'What's the man doing up there?'

Whilst trying to get washed I noticed we had no water, nothing came out the tap.  It transpired that there was a burst pipe in the village, just what you need with two small kids.  I have to say the water company were amazing and fetched us bottled water so that I could look after my daughters.  However this raised the following questions from my eldest:

'Where has the water gone Mummy?'
'Why does it not work Mummy?'
'Do we need more batteries for the water Mummy?'
'Can I fix it please Mummy?' [As she comes in with her play tool box, spanner, hammer and screw driver]

When we finally did get ready, we met up with my friend again for a late lunch.  We went to Yummy Yorkshire Ice cream and had some of my favourite ice cream.  We had a scoop of malted milk and a scoop of strawberry, my eldest really loved it but my youngest wasn't too keen.

I really enjoy Yummy Yorkshire ice cream so we came home with a tub of Dandelion & Burdock Flavour, I can't wait to try it.

When we cam home the water was back on, my daughter was pleased.  The tree man had gone, although this prompted several questions as to where he had gone and after yet another busy day I can't wait to recharge my batteries with my Yummy Yorkshire Ice cream.

This day I love Battery, tree and ice cream.

Its been a day full of surprises, some good and some bad.  Last night I had a small accident in the car, I don't particularly want to go into the details, as all that matters to me is both girls are ok, metal can be replaced my kids can't, but when I got home and tried to open the door to my youngest the handle came off in my hands, bad surprise.  I had to climb through the car over my other daughters car seat in order to get her out, good surprise I'm a little fitter than I thought.

So this morning involved ringing round numerous companies to sort out a replacement car and booking mine into be fixed.  Now when booking a replacement car I specifically stated I needed 5 doors and a boot big enough to fit a twin pushchair in, not a problem I was told, bad surprise I got a small car.  There is nothing wrong with it but it does not meet the requirements stated i.e. a twin pushchair does not fit in the boot, or at least mine doesn't.

After a rather long morning I took my girls swimming which they both love for the afternoon.  I returned home to find my husband home, a good surprise.  An even better surprise was that he had cooked dinner, a really yummy shepherd pie [or as we call them thanksgiving pie as we use turkey mince].  It was the best surprise of the day and a great way to end a rather hectic day.
