This day I love.......

Often when I shop in Aldi I see the items in the beauty aisle and wonder just how good they are, especially compared to the leading brands. The packaging for one thing looks very similar, often better but what is the quality of the item like inside? Aldi sent me a couple of items from their range to try, however as I have no comparison I gave them to my Mum to have a look at for me,

First up was the 3 minute peel.

The peel States very clearly don't leave on longer than 3 minutes, my Mum followed the instructions but did say that her skin feel tingly whilst it was on. The peel comes supplied with a brush for application and this made the application easy to do. After 3 minutes was up the peel was easy to wash off. My Mum says she noticed a difference in the appearance of her skin, it looked and felt clean.

Wrinkle smoother

Using the nozzle it was easy to apply and gave no tingling sensations. My Mum did ask what the target age for this cream might be and I have to wonder the same? She also said it might be too early to tell if there are any results, but overall she liked the cream.

Serum concentrate

My Mum was a little concerned that the serum is black, however once applied to the skin it is clear. You only need a small amount of serum, around 2-3 pumps and it is easy to apply. A small concern for my Mum is that it left her skin feeling rather tacky, even with this tacky feeling she was still able to apply foundation or a moisturiser and the skin afterwards does feel soft.

Have you tried any items for Aldi beauty range?

All words are my Mum honest opinion

The new Brother Max 6 in 1 Thermometer will be coming to stores from 1st March and has a RRP of £59.99.  This is a really innovative projection thermometer that we have had rather a lot of fun testing.

Brother Max 6 in 1 thermometer

Everything you need comes in the box, including the batteries which means that it can be used straight away.  The 6 in 1 thermometer is simple to use, 3 buttons on the front.  1 for forehead and 1 which displays the temperature in memory and a final one for other temperatures.  The 6 in 1 thermometer can take the temperature of bath water, liquids, food, skin, room temperature and forehead.  This is simply fantastic as it means 1 product is needed to test everything, instead of lots of different thermometers.  The 6 in 1 thermometer is light weight, a fantastic size to hold and really easy to store.

the brother max 6 in 1 thermometer

The thermometer projects the temperature of the item measured which means it is contact less.  This is not only much more hygienic than traditional thermometers but also much easier to use.  There are no struggles trying to get the thermometer into the right place, or to get a child to sit still and  the temperature can even be taken when your child is asleep.

As the thermometer is so simple to use my youngest daughter even knows how to use it.  When she came home from school today she decide to play doctors and test how hot Mummy was, then how hot baby was and final how hot she was.

Using the 6 in 1 thermometer is childs play

This innovative product is certainly going to make life a lot easier with Thing 3, and as you can have lots of fun with it the girls are also really willing to have their temperature taken so no struggles when it has to be done!

We were sent the 6 in 1 thermometer for review, all words are my own opinion.

Thing 3 seems to be growing at a very fast rate, and perhaps a little too fast for my frame.  My skin is stretching and added to this the pain I feel from the torn abdominal muscles and displaced hips my bump is in much need of support.  I received a wonderful email from Secret Saviours at just the right moment and was very eager for my Secret Saviours package to arrive.

Secret Saviours is three products in one.  A multitasking support band, day gel and night cream and using them combined has helped to prevent stretch marks in 70% of women.  The support band has special pads which when combined with the day gel help stick to the skin.  The random pattern of the pads helps to prevent stretch marks from forming and helps to support bump and lower back.

I was a little worried at first regarding this, wondering if the pads would perhaps feel too sticky against my skin or cause irritation.  I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I did wear it for the first time that I really did not know I had it on.  I do reposition the band to get it comfortable for me and my bump and as I still have my piercing in my tummy button I do sometimes have to re adjust in the day.  Somewhere between 8 and 9 hours of wear I do start to get a little itchy so I reapply some more of the day gel which takes the itching away.  I have noticed this more as my bump has got bigger, and so it might be time for me to get the next size up.

The support band does leave a rather random pattern on my skin, which is completely normal

The support band can be washed at 40C but cannot be tumbled dried.  To be honest though it does dry very quickly, I usually leave mine overnight and it is dry for the next morning.

The day gel has a tacky type texture which is to help the support band pads stick, but you do not notice this once you are wearing the band.  The night cream is a real treat and has a relaxing aromatherapy style smell to it [very difficult to explain in words].  I really look forward to applying the night cream and have to admit to doing so several times in the night as it smells and feels fantastic.

Touch wood I have not yet seen any stretch marks forming and have been using the Secret Saviours products since 26 weeks pregnant.  Obviously the earlier you start using Secret Saviours the bigger benefit you will see.  With only 10 weeks left I am hoping those pesky stretch marks are going to be kept firmly at bay, fingers crossed!

October is fast approaching and for me this brings about great excitement.  Not only does October see my blog turn 3, it also plays host to my Birthday and to my first ever marathon.  October certainly is a busy month.  Family have begun asking what I would like for my birthday as a present and I have a few ideas.

I would really love a food processor, a high tec one as I think it would really help on my healthy lifestyle journey but other than this the gifts I love are the personalised ones.  I love it when the girls give me presents that they have made themselves or photo presents.

I was recently asked to try a new site Caseapp and try their creative products.  Case app allows you to make your own custom iPhone case.  You first select if you wish to make a skin or a case.  I decided upon a skin.  After this select your phone or tablet you are making the skin or case for.  There is a wide range of phones available, mainly apple phones but there are some Android.

Your design can be as personalised as much as you like.  From adding photos, to text or even making collages.

A Caseapp skin or case would make a perfect gift.

To celebrate my blogs birthday I am giving a way one Caseapp skin or case to one This day I love reader.  Simply enter via the widget below.  Giveaway ends at midnight GMT on 10th October 2015 and is open to UK residents only.  Good luck!

If you are not lucky enough to win please use code THISCASEILOVE to receive a discount on your order.

It is no secret that my eldest daughter has very sensitive skin and suffers with eczema.  Her eczema can often take weeks at a time to recover and during this time can be very itchy for her.  We know the triggers of her eczema are dust and heat, and she suffers the most during the winter months when her skin has to be covered up meaning it cannot breathe.

I will admit to worrying that whilst on holiday she would suffer with a flair up.  The hot weather plus sun cream I thought would be a bad combination for her skin.  However on an evening after her bath I would use Dermatique recuperating cream on her skin.  The cream has no smell and is completely free from steroids, making it perfect for her sensitive skin.

Dermatique recuperating cream

Within a few days I noticed that her current flair up had disappeared and she had no more visible patches.  I also noticed her skin felt lovely and soft, hydrated.  Once more because Dermatique recuperating cream goes on smoothly it leaves no greasy or sticky feeling afterwards so she was more than happy to go straight to bed and not have to wait for the cream to soak in.  As the cream absorbed almost instantly she has also did not experience that initial cold snap which you sometimes feel after applying creams.

Dermatique recuperating cream also made a perfect after sun cream for both girls.  After a full day in the sun Dermatique recuperating cream helped to rehydrate both girls skin and was gentle enough that it could even be applied to their faces.  At £29 Dermatique recuperating cream has become an essential item in our travel bag.

We were sent a tub of Dermatique recuperating cream to review, all words are my own opinion.
