This day I love.......

As a family we are very familiar with the HiPP baby brand.  When the girls were babies we used night time formula milk for them, and used a range of the HiPP baby foods.  We do the same with Little Man, and just like the girls, he has a liking for the HiPP baby cocoa and vanilla desert.  If you have not tried it you really should!

HiPP have recently released a new range of baby care products, this time for cleaning baby.  There has been a fair bit in the news recently about microbeads and I was pleased to learn that the new Baby care range from HiPP did not contain any microbeads or any parabens.  The whole range is 'Free from' which means it is softer and kinder to skin and even suitable for my eldest daughter to use and she has eczema.

Within the Baby care range is foaming handwash.  I love anyway to encourage children to wash their hands, as if we are honest kids would rather run back to play then spend time washing their hands.  This foaming handwash is rather fun and the girls could not wait to wash their hands.

The shape of the duck is the perfect size for little hands to press and there is a good size foam to give little hands a really good wash.  There is no smell associated with the hand foam and it leaves hands feeling really soft.

There are three other items in the HiPP baby care range.  Little Man loves his baths and at 6.30 every night he has a little moan if he is not in the bath.  It is almost an in built thing, and he lets us know every day that it is bath time.

As with the handwash I noticed no smell with any of the baby care range and each one gave a no tears comment.  Little Man certainly had no tears and loved splashing around in the soft bubbles.

His skin and hair left clean and every so soft after his bath.  I think he is a fan of the new HiPP baby care range!

We were sent samples for this review, all words are my own opinion

Having 2 children who love messy play means I end up doing a lot of wash loads. Added to messy play is the enjoyment of mud and the inability to pass an opportunity to play with water. My washing machine never stops.

I have several requirements with a washing machine

1. It must be easy to use, I do not have time to spend ages working out which button to press and when
2. I like it to have a quick and economical wash. Saves me time if the girls have only got something a little dirty.
3. It must be good economically, I do a lot of washing so I don't want it to cost a fortune to operate.
4. It must have a built in dryer as I do not have the space for both
5. I need to be able to do large wash loads, as I have a lot of washing and like to be able to wash duvets.

The Servis WD1496FGR appeared to match all our requirements and so when we were sent one to review I could not pass up the opportunity.

So far the Servis WD1496FGR has managed to live up to all my requirements. It has a quick wash which takes 12 minutes and thanks to some very clever built in intelligence means its very economical. It can work out how much washing you have put in and then let you know how much powder to add. Fantastic to save some money and not use more than needed detergent. The clever sensor also means you are aware if you over load your washing and this then stops you filling too much so your clothes are cleaned more efficiently.

The drum on the Servis WD1496FGR is huge! I can fit a king size duvet in with no problems, which is great for those emergencies when your child spills something on your bed. I tend to use the daily wash which takes 30 mins, and it gives me a range of options for temperature and spin speeds, therefore allowing me to tailor the wash program to my needs.

The Servis WD1496FGR is a rather clever machine and really lends a helping hand at keeping the washing pile down.

I was sent a Servis Washer dryer to review, all words and opinions are my own.

Maybe I have been a little naive but I always assumed that when I put my clothes in the washing machine they would come out clean.  I assumed wrongly that any bacteria / virus on the clothes would be killed in the wash.  However new researched commissioned by Dettol has discovered that bacteria linked to faeces is on 1 in 4 items of children's washed clothes.  I was really shocked when I read this.

Dettol Laundry cleanser kills 99.9% of bacteria.  It cleanses the machine and provides hygienically clean laundry.  I was sent a sample to try and I was a little worried that it may upset my daughters skin.  She suffers from eczema and a change in washing powder can result in a flare up.

I used the Dettol Laundry cleanser in a few loads in order to test fairly.  I found it very easy to use, either soak or put two capfuls in the softener drawer.  The clothes came out smelling clean, there was no over powering smell.  After drying and ironing the main test came as my daughter wore her clothes.

After a week she has not suffered a flare up and usually a change in powder a flare up would occur after a day or two.  This is great news as I know I can use Dettol to kill 99.9% bacteria, clean the washing machine and it does not upset my daughters skin!

Sunday

My second blogging conference, Blogon at the amazing MOSI in Manchester.  A great day, with wonderful blogging friends, informative sessions and some fantastic companies.  I learnt a lot, laughed a lot and had a lot of sugar!

yummy sweets

Monday

I was feeling poorly with quite a stomach bug and my nose and face were still hurting, giving me a massive headache, following from last weeks accident.  I took the time to get a little fresh air and noticed our blueberry tree seems to be quite happy and growing the first berries.

Tuesday

I sold the high chair and my youngest daughter now sits at the table with us.  She loves it.  I cannot quite believe how fast she is growing up.

Wednesday

I took the opportunity with the warm weather to wash the girls teddies.  I really loved all the colours on the washing line.  I had to make sure they had all dried though before the girls came home from nursery.

Thursday

Some lovely sunny play outdoors just what is needed to make you feel better.  My youngest decided to have a play with a big girls bike.  She really is growing up quick.

Friday

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me achieve my 100% target for Alzheimer's society.  I raised over £250 which is absolutely fantastic and I could not be more thrilled.

I have not been too well this week, suffering still from the aftermath of the head butt and also a tummy bug things have been a little quiet on the blog front.  Rather than posting lots of posts I thought I would try and combine into one, less for me to catch up on then.

I noticed today as my girls were doing the usual run away from me whilst I try to get them in the car just how grown up they are looking.

the girls playing

Both of them running around and playing with each other.  This time last year we had only just moved in and my youngest could not even sit up.  I cannot believe the time has gone so quick.

We sold the high chair this week.  Another step towards my daughter growing up, but she is enjoying her dinner much more now that she is at the table.

sitting at the table

With me not able to stand for long without feeling sick, I am hoping this tummy bug passes soon, I took the opportunity to sit down and go through all the girls toys.  Wanting to make the most of the dry weather I decided to wash the soft toys in the washing machine.  This lead to a rather colourful washing line and one of the only times I have wanted to take a picture of my washing drying.

For the first time too my youngest also got involved in the baking.  My eldest and I love baking and I thought it was about time my youngest joined in.  She was given a spoon and shown how to mix, but I guess the chocolate was too much to resist!

My girls are growing up so quickly and I love how as each day passes the bond between them becomes stronger.  Yes they have their sibling fights but you can see how much they care and love each other.  So far a beautiful week with lots of very special moments.

This day I love special moments.
