This day I love.......

These past few weeks have been absolutely rubbish.  Well rubbish work wise.  My laptop decided to pack in and so rather than buying a new one I tried the cheaper options of replacing the parts that had broken.  Only after waiting for parts to be delivered and then none of them actually solving the issue I had to bite the bullet, so to speak, and purchase a new laptop.

At the same time as this laptop fiasco was happening a new shop, Shopetino, opened and contacted me to giveaway 10 Limited Edition Shopetino Shoppers.  I have been trying for over 20 days to get this competition live.  It is almost impossible on my phone to do so.  In fact trying to code on my phone gave me a headache and I had to admit defeat.

Shopetino is a new lifestyle store for babies and children up to the age of eight focusing on clothing, accessories, jewellery and interiors. Shopetino showcases new, niche and independent brands that offer luxury and craft at affordable prices - such as Carlie Grace, XOKiddo, Jumbo & Friends, Gooseberry Fools, Mama & Belle, Sophie Home and many, many more.

I love the look and feel of Shopetino, and it is founded by a Mum too.  Please do head over and take a look and good luck in the giveaway.  Full terms and conditions including closing date and time can be found on the widget below:

In all honesty they thought of spending all day in a shopping centre with three kids doesn't sound very appealing, especially when you throw into the mix the school holidays.  Yet at the end of last week this is exactly what we did, and actually had rather a fantastic day out!  I was taken by surprise by how much fun we did have, and also how little we spent.

Last week we visited York Designer Outlet.  The girls needed a few last minute things for school, including feet measured for school shoes, and I had a few bits to pick up for a race over the weekend.  First things first, we needed to get our priorities straight and all have some lunch.  Whilst plenty of choice we settled for a favourite, Pizza Express.

I wish I had gotten the person who served us name as he was absolutely fantastic and deserves a mention.  Going out of his way to talk to the kids and entertain them.  It made a huge difference.  Three happy kids with full tummies we set off to do a spot of shopping.

The girls feet haven't grown since their last school shoes, so they didn't need new shoes.  Little Man did, so we picked him up a pair.  We found all the things the girls needed.  New school jackets, P.E kits, trainers and some bits for junior parkrun.  I found the hydration vest I needed along with a light weight jacket for running.  A rather successful shopping trip.

York designer outlet also have a range of activities on for the kids over the summer, Summer Social.  In a rather large outdoor space, decorated with large bean bags, tables and chairs in bright colours, and live musicians we found circus skills.  The activity does vary but even so the space was simply beautiful to sit and chill, take some time out from shopping.

The girls wasted no time trying out new skills. My eldest determined to walk on the stilts, and my youngest wanting to do everything!  I got to play too, showing my eldest my stilt walking skills and my youngest how to spin a plate, that was until Little Man took a shinning to it!

The summer social space also features talented musicians.  Whilst there the entertainer was having rather a lot of fun with the children.  They were joining in with her, making different voice changes and it was lovely listening to the kids laughing and having fun with music too.

A ,,ore permanent addition to York designer outlet is the playground.  Plenty for all three of my children to do, although it was a little busy and given the size of the playground made it tricky to watch all 3 at one point.  My youngest daughter got stuck in a coil, only her!  Little Man really did not want to get back in the pushchair after playing with his sisters!

It was nearing 5 before we headed for one final treat, cake and a hot drink!  I actually could not believe we had spent an entire day at the outlet without one child complaining they were bored.  I think that is a win in itself, let alone we managed to find all the items on our list.

We had a wonderful day at York designer outlet and are looking forward to our next visit

My girls are huge fans of shopping and I often catch them in role play playing shops.  My sister and I as young children would often set up a shop and play shops with each other.  These types of imaginative play are great fun and seemingly timeless games to play.

Casdon are a well known brand who have a beautiful little shoppers range.  Within this range are a shopping trolley, a supermarket till and the post office.  The girls were delighted when we were sent the post office to play with.

The post office requires some assembly but the instructions are clear and easy to follow so it takes less than 5 minutes to build.  The post office includes everything you need to play with greeting cards, post cards and magazines to sell.  There are post office forms and parcels. The scales are able to weigh and a pretend stamp to seal letters.

A post office would not be a post office without a working post box.  The girls take great delight in one playing the shop keeper and the other the post man.  They can even empty the post box when needed.

A working post office also needs a till and the Casdon post office comes complete with pretend money.  The girls love that everything they need to play shops was there in the box.

The colours are bright and the post office is well built and very sturdy.  I love that it can encourage role play and imagination in the girls.

My daughters have started getting invites for friends parties and I often struggle with what to buy for their friends.  Alongside this I have 8 nieces and nephews.  I find it difficult to buy for children who fall outside of my daughters ages.  Older children or boys, in particular, as my girls have their set likes [Frozen mainly] and outside this I am at a loss.

There is a toy store however which does not cater to parents, it aims at helping you find the perfect gift for your niece, nephew, cousin or friend.  Wicked Uncle orders its products by gender and age range.  This may seem a little strange, however when you stop to think about it it makes perfect sense.

When I shop for my nieces and nephews I often think, what do my 11 year old niece/nephew want for their birthdays [or something along those lines].  As this is the thought process for most people it becomes logical for a store to order its products this way.  Items are then ordered by popularity.  This then allows you to see exactly what the child you are buying for would, in theory, like.

I found there to be a great range of products on Wicked Uncle, even things to suit the most fussy children.  The whole process was simple and easy to use.  Although the site is designed with buying for children other than your own, I did stumble across a few items for the girls too.

Wicked Uncle has certainly impressed me with its range of products and speed of delivery.  I shall certainly be purchasing from Wicked Uncle again.

I was sent a voucher to review the Wicked Uncle program.  All words are my own opinion.

My eldest daughter is now 3.  I can't believe it.  3.  Time really has flown by, I look at her and she is so grown up.  3.  We started our celebrations bright and early this morning, she awoke at 5.30am.  She opened her present and that was it I could not get her away from it

Whilst I was making breakfast I could hear her singing.  She sang, incy wincy, did her abc and even sang happy birthday to herself.  I loved listening to her sing and play.

We had to do some shopping in preparation for her party, but shopping is one of my daughters favourite things to do.  After shopping she had her hair done and it looks ever so nice.

My eldest is a huge Monsters Inc and Toy story fan.  I thought for her birthday I would take her to see Monsters Uni and it would also be the first time she had gone to the cinema.  She was excited all day at the thought of seeing monsters.

first time at cinema

She was really good inside the cinema, especially as she has never been before.  She understood the film and asked a few questions, which you would expect.  I think I am going to have to take her to another film now!  We both loved the new Monsters film, it is very funny.  She asked in the car if she could come to the big TV again.  I am going to take that as she enjoyed it.

We stopped in at the toy shop before heading to dinner.  We have a few birthdays coming up so I thought we would quickly pick up some presents.  The girls had their own ideas and soon started taking toys from the shelves that they liked.

I am thinking I might have found what the girls want for Christmas.

The girls, my Mum and I then headed for a birthday meal.  My youngest became fascinated with the ice in my drink and kept taking it out to play and have a look.

My eldest got to choose one of her favourite meals, Pizza.  We opened her cards and some of her presents whilst we waited.

The waitress noticed her opening presents and asked me if it was her birthday.  My daughter asked for some ice cream for desert.  The waitress then brought out her ice cream with a candle in and we all sang happy birthday.  She could not stop smiling and my youngest started to clap.

I had a lovely day with my girls and I hope my eldest loved her third birthday.

This day I love turning 3.

I think its safe to say my youngest is now a toddler.  Having spent most of the day perfecting her walking and less time crawling I think we are saying bye to the baby stage.  Its sad as my little one is growing up too fast  but the next part is so much fun too.

After today's swim class my youngest kept toddling down the corridor looking at all the fish and sea horse on the walls.  Its a good job my Mum had come with me as chasing two in separate directions is difficult

We then went into the shopping centre as the girls need shoes for a wedding we are going to soon.  My youngest toddled round the shop emptying all the shelves

Once again I was ever so glad my Mum was with me, as my youngest refused to sit still and wanted to toddle around.

When we got home my youngest started to walk from one end of the play room to the other and continued to do this for most of the evening

toddle

This prompted my husband to ask if we can now official say she is walking?

This day I love toddling
