This day I love.......

Last week there was a rare Autumn afternoon and my youngest and I decided to make the most of it before picking up her sister from school.  We decided to go for a walk through the local woods.  As we walked the leaves began falling all around us and with the low Autumn sun it was really magical.  My youngest was captivated

My youngest began exploring more, taking in the most of her freedom and running round through the leaves.  Trying to catch the ones as they fell and chasing the shadows cast by the sun.  It was wonderful watching her.

We had just enough time to play hide and seek before picking up her sister from school, can you spot her?

This day I love Autumn hide and seek

We had nothing planned for today and so we decided to spend the day in the garden.  Our garden was in need of a tidy up.  Having suffered from the blustery weather over the winter and the fallen leaves of Autumn it was looking a little sorry for itself.

The girls loved spending the whole day outside, except for lunch and the slight rain shower in the afternoon.  They ran around the garden playing with each other laughing and giggling.  Having lots of fun making up games and enjoying the fresh air.

My husband and I had the fun task of tidying.  We have a lot of trees in our garden and this means a lot of leaves.  On top of this the high winds have also blown down a lot of twigs and branches.  We set about tidying up, collecting the leaves and the twigs.  After filling up the entire recycling bin we had to call it a day but there is still plenty more to be done.

Whilst scooping up some of the leaves we noticed a little visitor.

our little visitor

A very quick decision was made to move him out of the path of two dogs, both who like to chase small things that move and two girls with very inquisitive minds.  I took lots of the wet leaves and moved them into a safe place, before moving frog to the new location and covering him in more wet leaves.

our frog friend

Hopefully frog will be as happy in his new location and be out of harms way.

It was a lovely spring day and am hoping the start of getting outside more

This day I love Spring is in the air

This week has been such a roller-coaster of emotions.  I have felt low for most of the week and just wanted to stay away from either online or real life people.  I can only apologies for my absence.  Normal service will resume.

Sunday

Bottoms up for juicingI spent the day at a bloggers event in Leeds.  #introjuicing was hosted by Currys and was a great day out.  We got to try some amazing juices, and do some Yoga.  I had never seen so much fruit.  I won an Instagram competition with this photo and won a juicer.  I have spent most of the week juicing things

Monday

Spotty dog sleepingSpent the day catching up with work and generally keeping myself busy.  The start of February is never easy and I just had to do things to take my mind of the week ahead.  Spotty dog is back to normal and up to creating mischief as normal.

Tuesday

sisters graveToday would have been my sisters 30th Birthday.

Wednesday

hiding in cupboardsI had to go to b and q to pick up a few pieces.  After 3 years of living with the hallway carpet we have finally saved up enough to get it replaced.  It needed replacing when we moved in and it feels so much better now it is finally done.  My youngest got a little bored in b and q and took to hiding in the kitchen cupboard displays.

Thursday

Weetabix strawberryWe received a new breakfast cereal to try and I have to say I really like it.  Will be publishing a review soon

 Friday

winter sun funThe winter sun was so beautiful you would be forgiven in thinking it was Summer day.  My youngest had so much fun exploring the woods near us.  Kicking leaves and stomping in mud, it was a great afternoon.

Saturday

parkrun viewAn early Saturday morning start.  I ran my third park run today.  Not sure why but today it felt hard.  I got heart burn half way round and had to walk for a bit which I don't normally do.  I did manage a PB so I must have been running fast.

We woke up to a frosty morning.  I love frost, I would love it more if it wasn't so cold.   I just love the way frost makes things look, so pretty.  After a frosty start my youngest and I headed to the park to feed the ducks and play outside.

cold ducks

My youngest kept stopping to say hello to the ducks.  We found lots of mud to stomp in and leaves to kick in the air.  Whilst I was busy standing with my youngest, the dogs began to have other ideas.  Lucky for me I looked down before I stood up

tangled

My youngest had a lot of fun in the winter sun running between the trees.  It was so beautiful watching her play and explore.  Giggling as I chased her through the leaves

winter sun fun in the woods

We had so much fun running around in the woods.  It was lovely listening to her giggle and ask to be chased, I think she loved it too.

Other than the slight crisp in the air and the leaves on the ground, I think it feels rather warm for Autumn.  The girls are running around still warm in their jackets, no need for winter coats or hats. and we are making the most of this by exploring.

We decided to explore one of the local woods.  The girls loved running through the trees and kicking up all the leaves.

I loved watching them chase each other and they were happy with the freedom to explore.

Our spotty dog is also enjoying her walks more and whilst we still take it easy with her, she is starting to get excited at the sight of her lead and wanting to be outside more.  Of course all this walking does tire her out so when we get home we always have a sleepy spotty puppy.

We had such a wonderful afternoon playing in the leaves and exploring the woods.  A beautiful Autumn day

This day I love Autumn walks

First I must apologies that my 365 is late.  A weekend of blogging conference and Illness meant I am only just able to sit up and type.

Sunday

eldest and mummy on training walk

Just over two weeks left [well one really its on Sunday] and then the big challenge will be here.  I will be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks to raise money for Alzheimer's society.  I just want to say thank you to all those that have sponsored me so far via my Just giving badge [badge on blog] and helped me to raise over £200.  I will be aiming to tweet during the walk and you can follow me and Lisa [Hollybobbs] with #blogY3P.  A training walk with my daughter in the sunshine was a really lovely way to spend a Sunday.

Monday

youngest sweeping leaves

The girls and I spent some time cleaning up leaves in the garden and doing some general tidying up.  With the lovely weather its great to get outside and enjoy some time in the garden before bed.

Tuesday

eldest in play tunnel

More lovely summer play, my eldest loves her play tents which give great shade on hot days.

Wednesday

the finished play house

I am so pleased with how the play house has turned out.  It has taken a while to complete due to the repair work that was needed but it has been well worth it.  Thanks to Farrow and Ball for the paint, I hope that the play house will last the girls for years to come

Thursday

cow bob bob cow

My daughter wanted to visit the farm after nursery.  This is one of my favourite pictures of the day as the cow shows a particular interest in BOB.

Friday

beautiful smiles

We visited a shopping centre after work as I needed some last minute supplies for the Yorkshire 3 peaks walk.  My eldest wanted a go on the fire engine ride.  I just love how happy she is

Saturday

gin

Ok so Saturday did not go according to plan.  My daughter decided to dive in from the side of the swimming pool into my face.  Which resulted in blood loss and a swollen nose, plus a lovely cut [quite deep I might add] across the bridge of my nose.  My daughter is unharmed, unhurt, unmarked and alright.  Which to me is the most important thing.  I however have a headache [still its now Monday] and my face/nose is killing me.  As a result of this I was late to pick up Hollybobbs, which made us late for the pre #blogonmosi dinner [sorry again Laura].  This picture is therefore of the gin Lisa and I had in our hotel room before blog on to wind down from a rather hectic day.
